Josh has now tried to make amends, as well. I'm willing to give him a second chance and hope our exchanges can be more productive in the future.

I'm guessing it was just a cut and paste job he sent to everyone. Sethbag's description sounded like the same PM I received.

He didn't tell me who it was, though I assume he (or somebody) will, so that the rest of us will know to stay away from this person. All he said was that he was sorry for accusing me. I requested that he state this publicly.

The person that sent the emails did it has come forward and will remain anonymous, but Mister Scratch was not the source. The person claims they were trying to be funny.

I sent a few out as PMs because I felt it was more personal than a public notice. Since it is the same "message" they obviously would be similar. I offered a truce and apology and ask that you do not try to overanalyze it.

They sure as hell weren't funny.

Edited to add: And they should have come forward a good long time ago before the s*** storm hit. I'd like to know who it was, if only to evaluate any interactions I may have with perpetrator. To allow this kind of situation is just not right.
