Just a caveat though. I'm not sure I accept your characterization of yourself as "attention starved" and that you "came to this board to fill a need in [your] life."

Amazingly enough, I personally have never believed this to be the reason you were here. Otherwise I suppose I am also attention starved. Perhaps so, but I don't think so.

Best Wishes!

I guess I am not good at apologies. Sorry again. Happy holidays (yes I am Josh.)

Don't sweat it. I think when one is feeling remorseful it is perhaps natural to feel worse about yourself than you deserve.

I just hope things go well on your side (including that you can forgive yourself and not condemn yourself for things you did not do).

Your post implies no one was on your side, I recall several posters here denouncing Scratch's behavior and asking others on the board to give you a chance. I recall nearly everyone denouncing the behavior of the imaginary threatener. What kind of support were you looking for? Did you need someone to buy into the multiple avenues of deception you've employed and support them?

The board rules here don't prevent Scratch from doing anything he's doing. So far as I can tell, everything he's "dug up" is information you've promoted intentionally at one time or another. And honestly, his target has been online behavior, not real life stuff. Did you also notice you're one of 58 dossiers he's published? And he only devoted two paragraphs to you. Have you seen him go after DCP and Ray? Did you read Scratch's noted hobbies from his blog?

Scratch does what Scratch does. He's not going to stop even if everyone were to deplore him, he's that committed. A strange relationship with the church he has, considering he's neither apologist nor critic.

I wouldn't be so hard on him at this point. It is easy to feel alone when one is upset. I know I often felt alone in elementary school when I was bullied even though looking back I always had friends and other people on my side.

I doubt it.

yeahhh, and then there's the whole jskainsian cycle: naïve self-importance, strange observations, crazy online projects, and baiting questions lead to confrontations; confrontations lead to meltdowns and apparent life crisis (which are unfortunately both sad and entertaining at the same time), crisis leads to obsessive and unpredictable out-lashing and antics, out-lashing leads to fatigue, fatigue leads to sorrow and self-pity, sorrow leads to healing and recuperating, and fully healed and vitalized, the cycle begins again.

So while the "sorry" and all is a nice gesture, one I have to say was kind of unnecessary and tackling the problem from the wrong direction, we'll see what happens next. Some of us have been around since 2000-2001.

If I could ask one thing for christmas, could it be you don't pick apart my apology and just accept it at face value? I would be very greatful.

I'm curious what you mean by unnecessary, but if this cycle is indeed familiar, I can see how it might be attacking the problem from the wrong direction. Are you saying that perhaps there is no need to express sorrow over actions that may be beyond one's direct control?

Either way I'm willing to accept the nice gesture.
