Look at the number of posts to view ratio. It seems like, for a "first page" topic, once the post gets underway, a solid topic has about 10 views per post. For instance, BishopRic's fine post has a solid 10. (note I said rule of thumb, there are of course exceptions and adjust for length of time up etc.) I plan on contributing to it later. But then look at Scratch's? They're simply among the most popular threads on the board, if not the most popular. Don't just blame Hollywood or the pornographers, blame the Marriott hotel chain and all the Mormons on business who whip it out -- their credit card -- and place their consumer's vote. Cuz that's what the market researches are watching, they surely don't listen to what the hypocrits teach from the pulpits on Sunday. Shame on all of you.

Since when is views:post ratio an indicator of topic integrity for this forum? The threads in question, by definition, belong in the Telestial Forum. If activity is an indicator of value, then I'm here to tell you, the LDS Church is true.

Jersey Girl,

I never said it's an indicator of topic integrity, not at all! I said it's an indication of demand. Nothing more. That was a response to Nehor who was asking who is demanding it.

Gad, you didn't need to address it. Scratch himself responded to the CFR.

Here is Scratch's exaggerated claim
Okay, I know he "apologized" (though some contest its sincerity), and I do intend to cut him a break, but I have just had too many requests for another thread, that I really just couldn't say no.

Nehor's CFR
CFR on who is DEMANDING another thread.

Scratch response to CFR
OUT OF MY MISERY, Personage, and MishMagnet all requested more threads.

Scratch himself admits there were only 3 posters requesting more threads. Views:posts ratio's are irrelevant.

Since when do you endorse cruelty on demand? Isn't that what these jskains threads really are?

There were a half-dozen more requests sent to me via PM. And no: I will not be "outing" the requesters.

You can say views to posts are irrelevant, I don't agree. If people are watching, that means he has an audience. Right or wrong, people are interested. If everyone were "above" it, they'd not view the threads. Love Scratch or hate him, the viewers are entertained by him and tune in.

As much as I disagree with him, he can be very entertaining. Sometimes in a funny way, sometimes in a maddening way, and sometimes in a roll-your-eyes kind of way.

I disagree. Pirate has a good and lively spirit. I see not even a hint of cruelty in her posts nor intent to harm. How is it that you see intentional human cruelty as useful?

I don't get your reasoning on that.

I never said she was a cruel poster. I said she's the equivalent of Skains in that she posts random and useless stuff, including updates on whatever she's doing or how she's feeling (see her various posts in the Off Topic thread as evidence).
