Congratulations to TREVOR for achieving godhood!

Post by _Dr. Shades »

My, oh my! We've had a rash of exaltations of late; I suppose we can call it the "mini-rapture of late '07."

On Sunday December 30, 2007 at exactly 2:43 p.m. Mountain Standard Time, our very own TREVOR completed the triumvirate of Charity & Doctor Steuss, forming the godhead of this mini-rapture.

Trevor marks the 30th person to work out his salvation so far. Interestingly, rcrocket has hovered at 999 posts for many weeks now. I think he's deliberately procrastinating the day of his salvation for whatever reason. Are we unworthy of being his minions, in his eyes?

Either way, if anyone has anything nice to say about Trevor, now is the time & this is the place to do so.

As for Trevor himself, let's hear a speech!
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Trevor is one of the few posters on this board whose posts I almost always read. He's intelligent, reasonable and gracious. Trevor is deserving of only the highest quality tribute that I, his intellectual underling, am able to supply.

Congrats, Trevor!

I'll give a shout for Trevor. I think he's a fairly balanced poster, and I always like to read his point of view, even when I disagree.

Bob sees this as damnation, not salvation. I think he'd rather walk over hot coals.

Congratulations. A speech would indeed be in order.

If there ever were an unworthy member to fill out a triumvirate including charity and Steuss, that person would be me.

Here's why:

First of all, I have been shamelessly sprinting to my exaltation by posting small comments at every opportunity to run up the numbers. Something about not running faster than one has strength didn't get through my thick skull.

This leads to the second point of unworthiness. Obviously, short posts often mean posts low on substance. In that category I am truly a lightweight. In the past, however, I have been so full of verbiage that I have driven others crazy. I'd like to think of this switch as repentance, but I'd only be kidding myself. Either way, it was truly self-indulgent all the way.

And third, I can be something of a board nanny in my inconsistent quest to play nice with others. Yes, I am a mercurial sort, which leads to accusations that I don't stick to my guns. Truth is I am mercurial, and I like to imagine I am fair. Sometimes not so much. On the other hand, even the people who drive me crazy most of the time I find endearing and sympathetic on occasion. Hopefully this means that I will never make a good collaborator in the event of the grand persecution of Mormons some fear in the future.

It's a good thing that this whole process of exaltation runs strictly by numbers, because by almost any other measure I would never make it. Thanks to Shades for making this possible for us--especially me.

Bows and leaves the podium.

Being brief is a talent. Your posts may be short, but generally pithy.
