Has FARMS been looking for them? I hope they didn't use LDS church money.charity wrote:Or how a few hundred complete buffalo carcasses. There are estimates that upwards of 10 million buffalo were butchered on the plains (US and Canada) in the late 1800's. That ought to be easy. There ought to be piles.

It is statements such as this that make your appearance as a buffoon certain.

Sooo...horses=tapirs is a completely valid and legitimate counter-argument to the claim of no horses in Mesoamerica??
Show me thousands of horse carcasses in Central Asia from the Huns. Then lets talk about horse bones.
Oh...right...I forgot. Horse bones is absolutely the ONLY way to determine if horses existed in mesoamerica.
Except...they keep unearthing horse bones that are hundreds of years old. They just don't match the time period suggested. Or are you saying that the bones can last for hudreds of years, but just not 1000 years?
Let me ask you this. How do they know that the Spanish Conquistadors used horses? They haven't found any horse bones used by them, have they? Are there other evidences that lead us to believe they were used?
Don't forget hippopatamusses. Hippopotami?
Right. Joseph Smith just called those tapirs horses cause he didn't know what else to call them. And he call those jaguars Cureloms and the Mammoths Cumoms...cause...err...ummm...wait, aren't those supposed to be literal letter for letter translations??

Who says they haven't found buffalo carcasses?? They don't make the news because they are found so often that it isn't newsworthy. That doesn't mean they don't find them.

by the way, there are plenty of ancient animal bones in Mesoamerica from the Book of Mormon time period. So the idea that the climate wasn't conducive to fossilizing animal bones is bunk. Of course, none of those bones happen to be HORSE bones. In addition, animals were important to the mythology and art of ancient Mesoamericans. Again, no horses.

Despite my complete and total disagreement with dartagnan on another thread, he is absolutely correct on this.dartagnan wrote:What would be a killer blow to the Book of Mormon? Nothing that men can come up with.
I rest my case.
This is the antithesis of reason.
When people have faith, there is nothing wrong with that unless that faith keeps on coming up empty, nothing will deter them unless the light goes on inside their brain.
