Joseph Smith refers to the Book of Mormon being the keystone of the LDS religion. It is through the Book of Mormon that many have come to Christ and his gospel. There is a spirit that accompanies the reading of this book which brings a person closer to God and Christ as they apply Moroni's promise. I had the opportunity of listening to the testimony of a recent convert this last Sunday here in our home. She had been a non-believer in the divinity of Christ before picking up and reading the Book of Mormon.
The Book of Mormon is the great sifter between those that seek Christ and his gospel and those that are happy to live/act as the scoffers residing in the great and spacious building, mocking those that seek after the tree of life.
As you've read the Book of Mormon over the years (assuming that you have), what spirit do you perceive/acknowledge coming from the reading of this book? Has it brought you closer to Christ and helped you understand his mission as Savior/redeemer of mankind?
Or did you reject that message?
Apparently so.

Just want to make sure here.
What you offered here is emotional, and excuse my bluntness, non-rational.
What "concrete evidence" do you have that shows that the Book of Mormon is a real document? After all, I do know that all adherents to the world's religions feel their "book" is right. Be it the Talmud, the Koran, the Vedic or the "Orange County Phonebook", a true believer will feel their religion is right.
It seems to me that you'll never accept the major issues as you'll have your emotions to fall back on. May they always catch you.

Years ago I started with Metcalfe's book, and then went the full course and read as much as I could from sources that looked at things from a rational perspective. I've looked and thought about everything rationally over and over and over again. For years and years.
For me, it's a rational decision...when all is said and done...to believe that God would deliver an artifact (something we can actually hold in our hands) in our day to testify that Jesus is the Savior/redeemer of mankind. That we are fallen/sinful in nature and needful of a mediator between ourselves and the eternal God of creation. One that could provide an atonement to help us become "at one" with God.
Would this not be a rational/reasonable thing to do on God's part? Especially with Christopher Hitchens and his buddies on the move publishing best sellers?

Uh, no.
Did you hold any of these objects in your hand?

What is this artifact that you are referencing here? I would like to see it and hold it in my hands.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably. bcspace

To me this is the killer blow to Joseph Smith credibility and honestly.
Check out this website to see that what is printed above is based on very flimsy evidence.

You have. It's called the Book of Mormon/Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

I'm holding a copy of The Return of the King in my hand right now. Is that a physical artifact demonstrating that Middle Earth was real?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

There is nothing more "flimsy" than that offered by Mormons that a feeling proves historical truth.
