The pigs walking on two legs

Post by _Mercury »

Does Orwell capture the true nature of Mormonism and other thought-oppressing dystopian ideas well in Animal Farm?

With the records of changes to policies and scripture along with the oppressive attitude of the leadership always knowing what is best, I believe so.

I guess All Mormons are equal, but some Mormons are more equal than others.

Is it the time for random inane analogies? Sounds fun.

Do you think that Anti-Mormons accurately correlate to the anti-Semitism of the Nazis? Though constrained by law the hatred seems to be there. With their tracts of all the Mormons do wrong and their constant accusations of money hording, meddling in government, and being anti-democratic I think this analogy rings true. I anticipate that one day the streets will flow red with blood as the Anti's descend on the Mormons to cleanse their society of the LDS Church's foul influence.

The only Mormons that are equal are first, those with ties to royalty (ie. GAs), and second, those with money (see Bednar, Uchdork).

The rest of them are fodder in the money making machine that is the Cult of Mormonism.

Only the first two will ever make it higher than MP. The rest will be replaced time and time again as they kiss ass trying to make it in the Morg.

Yup, im the first person to use animal farm as an analogy describing totalitarianism. Blixa, sign me up for Postgrad work...I think I have one hell of a thesis.

No, I don't. But apparently you do.

Actually, I think the bile boils more on the Mormon camp. It is not hatred that is in my heart, its pity. And I mean that.

Funny, that bloodletting is more of a Mormon thing. As more and more wake up to how unsuccessful the Mormon track record is the behavior programmed into Mormons leaves them. Before this they are subject to the Mormon corporation. The tide will turn even further and maybe Utah can set their clocks forward 50 years. Hopefully the organization will come quietly into the new century, but I doubt it. With careers established among a small pond in provo and morons defending the indefensible on the internet, they will be a background noise to the good examination they are getting with Romney running for president. Unfortunately, hes not going to pass muster and with him goes the Mormon view, reinforced by his loss. Romney will lose and it will be blamed on Mormonism, because its an easy target. and I mean that with my sympathies in play. Its a raw deal for Mitt. But there are valid reasons eople will make that connection. Its something that Harry Reid knows and mitt will understand in Iowa.

I'm going to stick with my theory that only the disturbed regularly insult those they pity and classify you accordingly.

Dude,
You are soo full of it. Do you own any guns to protect yourself & your family, hoarded some serious ammo to face these Latter Days?
I strongly think you are wrong, if anything Mormons are very irrelevant outside of Utah, I am not saying this to degrade them. They just do not exist in any significant numbers outside UT, ID, AZ.
Besides, Church's influence is rather moderate (way moderate) compared to Bible Belt idiots.
So, no reason for you to get defensive.

Interesting dialog.

Nehor,

The Book of Mormon relates a story where , just before Jesus was born, all the anti's set a day to slay all the Mormons because they believed in Jesus. The evening before this event was to take place, Jesus told Nephi (transmitting from inside of Mary's womb) that he would be born the next day pre-empting the slaughter and and that a new star would appear. It happened and the anti's fell to earth in astonishment and fear - and nobody died.

Ezra Taft Benson (a prophet, seer and revelator) continually testified that 3rd Nephi parallels our times. So what are you worried about? You're a TBM, read the book and you'll get less lathered up.

On the other hand, Mormons are insignificant in the scheme of things. There are perhaps 4 million TBM's in a world of 6 billion. There isn't a group that exists that really feels deeply threatened. Besides, there aren't enough Mormons to get any kind of consistant blood flow on a street anyway. Mormons are the only ones that consider their potential as threatening. Think about it. The only reason why Mormons have ever been hunted was because they were behaving un-Christianlike - either as a group or individually.

There will always be the occasional wack-job that will off a Mormon. They're generally not killing because the Mormon believes in Jesus, it's usually because the assailant is mentally unstable or just trying to cover a bad forgery.

Chill pill. Here, have one.

I'd like to use another analogy: the "1984". You know, the doublespeak is a typical Mormon thing.

I'm not angry, I just thought the analogy was flawed so I broke Godwin's Law to make another one of equal insanity.

I don't own a gun.
