I simply cannot fathom how you believe yourself to follow the "civil rules of debate." When was the last time you didn't resort to personal attacks? Hell, look at the post you just made. What was that thing Jesus said about having a plank in your own eye while trying to point out the speck in others'? I'm not saying that other people aren't just as guilty of personal attacks, but YOU are the one who has the nerve to bring up civility.

These mods, despite your ongoing venom, allow you to stay and say whatever you want. They let others do the same. An "anti" posting with even half your bad attitude on MAD would be excomm -- sorry, expelled, in a heartbeat. Come on.

I post about behavior on occasion. BEHAVIOR. People control their behaviors. We can criticize behaviors in a civil debate. I say the same kinds of things on MA&D as I do here. I have never been put on probation or banned even temporaily from either the FAIR message board or MA&D.

When I was banned from concernedchristians it was because I put up an argument Bob couldn't refute. He didn't just bann me, he deleted my post so that the other posters could not see my argument. I hadn't used any name calling, insulting, flaming. Just a quote of a scripture and asking him how he reconciled a statement he made with that scripture. That blew him ballistic.

If you are seeing venom then it is only in your own mind. And that isn't an insult. That is calling a behavior to your attention.

It seems sort of funny to me that when the "Nephi is an idiot" thread was pinned at MAD, everybody here was up in arms about it!!

Yet, it isn't uncommon to see a thread titled, "so-and-so is such a jerk-off retard!!!" on this board. Let alone all the hundreds of personal attacks inside the threads.
I know, it isn't a Mod making the thread, but it isn't discouraged, so how is it all that different?

Shouldn't we all be up in arms about ANYONE having to be subject to such personal attacks?? Not just when it's Nephi at MAD??

Actually, I've been here for months. Same goes for MAD, though I do read here more often. And perhaps in your zeal to correct my BEHAVIOR, you failed to notice that I made the two following comments:

1. "I'm not saying that other people aren't just as guilty of personal attacks..."

2. "They let others do the same [saying whatever they want]."

So, here I admit that other people use personal attacks. I would include Kevin, as there is no doubt in anyone's mind that he attacks you personally all the time. And generally, you respond with just as much venom. I fail to see how you can take the moral high ground here.

As for your amazing refutation, in which you cleverly define a personal attack in such a way that you can't ever be accused of one (When I said he was crude, I meant his BEHAVIOR, not him!), I have to say:

I think the difference is because Nephi was banned from MA&D and thus couldn't respond to the thread. Over here, if someone posts such a thread, the person him/herself can freely come over and challenge the one making the post.

Haha! Yanno what I recall about that? I recall people talking about it here and very few people actually interceding. I find it disgusting when there is character assassination of any sort usually. If it is of a VERY personal nature it's never appropriate imho. There are attacks at MAD all the time that are veiled and are quite ugly. Call me a retard or stupid any day and it slips right off -- some of the attacks on MAD are much more personal imho.

by the way, when jskains was being railed on here I too took issue with it. Did you Scottie?

Oh, and about Nephi. It was "Nephi is a child" and a call for all participants on the board to come ridicule him. That was disgusting and malicious. Same is seen here. I hope to see you in those threads from now on Scottie since it bothers you so. :)

I was banned twice - once when I had never even posted under my screen name, and another time when I had all of 27 posts, none of them insulting or flame throwing (although there was that little bit about the FAIR copyright claims being dubious that may have pissed somebody off, since FAIR is improperly claiming copyright ownership of all posts there in violation of federal copyright law). Yet I never received a warning nor a suspension for any behavior.
