No Charity, his was no "Chicken behavior".
He was obviously "abused" during his mission. Mental abuse is not much different than physical abuse.
Do you ever hear the stories of men/women being hostage to their faithful righteous TBM spouses, who daily threatens them with deprivation of their kids, if they don't go to church.

The most successful "modus operandi" part of the CULT is "CONTROL" & "COERCION".
Otherwise which sane, critical person who discovers what the church is about would stay in it?

Sad thing is; most of people like Mercury didn't get then that they had all the power to overcome church.
