I just read on MDB that there is an alleged connection between the guy and RfM? Does anyone know more about that?

I just can't imagine the rage that would compel this guy to point blank unload a dozen bullets into his wife. It sure would be nice to hear his side of the story so some blanks can be filled in.

I believe you meant "MAD" not MDB?

Though I think the thread at RfM was started by a troll, I don't doubt that he participated at RfM. Like I said earlier, the guy was a recent (over the last year or so) ex-mo, according to my real life inside sources (ooooh, now I know how scratch feels - so cool).

You don't think his participation on RfM was in any way connected to this unspeakable act, do you?

Too many boards, too many acronyms. ;)

I heard about this on the news, along with some question of whether or not the guy had had a recent affair. I think I've been on these boards too long. When I heard this, I wondered if the mother had threatened to make sure the kids would have as little interaction as possible with the guy, and this theory was especially compounded by a protective order->downgraded to a restraining order and the mother's own attorney who went on record to think it highly unlikely the mother feared the father. I'm sorry to say that I know at least three men who went through divorces where the female did this very thing. They tactically initiate a restraining order (without cause) in order to establish the legal precedence to limit the father's interaction with the children in the divorce. I'm also sorry to say that these men, all three of them, were absolutely enraged because of this stunt.

I have no clue what set this madman off.

Had the shoe been on the other foot, no doubt the women would have also been enraged. That is a despicable trick, if it's not accurate.

The children were at their father's house in Draper. They were not present at the murder.

At the time of the shooting, there was another man nearby with his two children, and some of the articles inadvertently made it sound like they were David Ragsdale's children, but they weren't.

Sad sad story.

I read that the kids were at his place and therefore didn't witness the event.

Very sad story, indeed.

My heart goes out to those two little children.

I'd give my kids extra hugs, if they lived at home. (They're too old, now)

As it is, I'll send it through "fatherly radar".

Utah County and Salt Lake County border each other. Lehi is the most northern city in Utah County, although the counties are seperated by a mountain range. If not for the mountains, Lehi would border Salt Lake.

Maybe 10 miles from South Salt Lake?
