Always Marry An April Girl

Praise the spells and bless the charms,
I found April in my arms.
April golden, April cloudy,
Gracious, cruel, tender, rowdy;
April soft in flowered languor,
April cold with sudden anger,
Ever changing, ever true --
I love April, I love you.

I'm getting in on this late, but not only am I an Aries, my middle name is April.

OH. MY. GOD.

Look, you can have either an amphibranch ( - / - ) or an anapest ( - - / ) in lines 1, 2, and 5, but you CANNOT have varying syllable counts! LINES 1, 2, AND 5 MUST HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF SYLLABLES!

Therefore, those limericks would have to drop the excess syllables as follows:

There once was a young mod named Bond
was witty and all thought him fond
Til one night he choke[d]
[on one] puerile joke
Aware of his shame he['d] abscond

There once was a hottie named monk
Who [w]as know[n] to act like a punk
This gal was quite rude
She started a feud
who messes with Bond [will be] sunk[/quote]

Now, they don't make a lot of sense grammatically, but lyrically they're all cleaned up. Reword as necessary for grammatical correctness.

Meter and rhyme are overrated, just like "cunning linguist" jokes and most of the books written by John Grisham.

If he thinks those are bad it's a good thing he doesn't know about the private limmericks I've been writing. :)

I always wished I was an April. I'm afraid to ask the exact day in April, so I won't.
