I probably won't stay long---at least not at this level of posting. I find it hard to strike a balance. What I should probably do is participate occasionally in select, substantive discussions (less aggravating!), and hit the chat room sometimes.

I searched for Thomas S. Monson by name at the indicated search site. Then plugged the address into the auditor's search engine. Using the assessor's engine won't work: it will only provide you a listing for a commercial property. However, the link I sent you should have taken you to the exact page for that property address, so I'm confused that you're saying it yields no result for the address.

Also, in this case, I know the property (or another in the same area) is listed in the Salt Lake property records. While I wouldn't know about any of the others, I knew roughly where Monson's property was because a friend had told me after checking the GAs in these records in the late 80s.

So, no, I don't think it's a red herring. Why would it be? You do realize that the GAs live in actual wards, where they deal with actual neighbors? They aren't cloistered in some ivory tower from which they can pretend to live in hovels.

In fact, we had two of the 70 in the Federal Heights Ward when I lived there.

GoodK struggles with knowing who is sympathetic and who isn't. She sees red herrings, straw men, and dead horses where some of us only see helpful information supplied by reasonable people with real life experience related to her question. Must be difficult to be as isolated as GoodK, seeing irrational, unhelpful, red-herring throwing people behind every keyboard. Sympathy is definitely in order.

I drove around SLC this past weekend when I was visiting and found the Eagle Gate Apartments where the prophet allegedly lives on the top floor penthouse (the top floor is obviously a penthouse or a single apartment). It was amazing looking.

Does anyone know if Monson will be living in this pad, or does he get to pick out a new one?
