1) it was a horrible song 2) the guy acted really strange 3) he should be happy to get some wherever that might be 4) I hated my Singles Ward. It was horrible.
We don't have singles wards here. Back home I am the only YSA in my ward. Literally. I am stuck with the oldies.
KimberlyAnn wrote:My daughters called me to the television last night to show me this nut job on American Idol sining a song he wrote himself called "No Sex Allowed".
I got a badly needed laugh out of it. It made me think of a Mormon Singles Ward for some reason...
PS - I give up trying to get the title to fit in the subject line! Argh!
Even were I inclined to making snearing judgements about other peoples' moral codes (which I am not), I would hesitate applying the pejoritive label of "nut job", particularly if I had been traumitized throughout my youth by a perfectly benign cupecake analogy. But, that may just be me.

Give it a rest, McTherapist.
You've said many times that you would avoid engaging me, but here you are again. Go away.
KA
Wade---KA has politely asked you not to engage her. Please respect that.
This was a particularly snarky comment and you know it.
I wasn't engaging her (note that I did not respond to her follow-up post even though it contained the same false perception as yours. I wasn't even speaking to her (note the intentional absence of her name in my post). I wasn't even speaking about her--at least not directly. I was speaking about myself, and I was speaking to the general audience here using the context of what she said. I don't think I was being the least bit snarking to myself (contrary to what you said). But, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
God knows I agree with some things you say, here, Coggs. But, at times you're an utter asshole.
Takes one to know one, I suppose.
I'd snarkily suggest that you "have fun with that" (and be done with it) but I realize you already do and so need no encouragement, however disingenuous.

Thank you, Chris.
KA
It was Kimberly who said:
If you have a PhD in Copulatory Abnegation, then you don't have a PhD in everything that counts! Certain degrees cannot be earned without practical experience.
Now, what pray tell, is the substantive difference between, abnegation, and abdication with regard to the concept of copulation
I think far too many people here--like Kimberly... have a totemic preoccupation with the third term...

Coggins, my comment was meant as a light-hearted joke.
I'm not sure there's any special value in the fact that my only "practical experience" has been with my husband, but it does prove your insinuation is completely off-base.
Also, the original post was made in fun. In the Over-30 singles ward where I live, a good portion of the men look like Milo. Sorry, but it's true. That, in combination with the hilarious song just made me think that "No Sex Allowed" might be a funny theme song for them. Like a parody. That's all.
There was also no malice intended in calling Milo a nut job. That wasn't due to his belief that sex outside of marriage is wrong. It was due to his bizarre behavior. He's a nut job just like all the others wanting to do something shocking or silly just to land themselves on television.

So was mine.

What insinuation? Many of your posts since I've been here have been on sexual themes and your criticism of the Churh's views in that area.
You're a jerk, Coggins. Wade is, too.

You're a Toid.

Milo Turk is a professional retard. He created that character specifically to draw attention, endorsements and money. He simply used A.I. to publicize himself and his character and the act was obviously planned out. Google his name there's a myspace page ready with all his songs including "The Lord in your Heart" and some sketchy pictures in the comments section.
Same thing with the Paul Marturano guy who sang the song about stalking Paula. He's not a weirdo, but it was simply a ploy to draw attention to him. His myspace page has a lot of hits in the last few days, so it was a creative way to expose his music.
So if A.I. does another season, all you will see in the tryout clips are people who make a living off weird sideshows. They are absolutely hilarious, but they are not genuine. The genuine ones usually aren't funny (all the good looking religious blondes - the woman wrestler from oregon, the no r rated movie nanny from mesa, and that other blonde who had the record 'Jesus Loves Me'). Actually the dude who sang the song about Moses was bloody hilarious, and I think he was genuine.LET MY PEOPLE GOOOOOOO
I going to break ranks here and make a statement that's out of character for me.
KA, I fail to understand why you post on these forums and then end up having to apologize over and over. I wish you wouldn't feel like you have to. Your comments are thoughtful, fun, witty, thought provolking, and captivating. (Not all at once, of course). I read your posts and think to myself, here's a person I'd like to meet. Not because of any reason other than, at my age, an engaging conversation is very enjoyable.
Actually, I feel that way with a lot of posters on this MDB forum. A fun group .... non-believers and believers alike.
But then there are others. Coggins, Wade. Why do you act the way you do? Comments like the above serve no purpose. They don't make anyone feel good about themselves. They don't make anyone stop and think or cause anyone to reflect for a moment. I"m reminded of grade school behavior acted out on the playground.
Guys, please think before you post. I know you're capable of better.

Let me see if I have this straight. KA makes another of her denegratingly snide slurs against the Church and calls me a jerk, and you consider that fun and witty, whereas I mearly comment that I personally would hesitate making such snide comments to anyone (particularly if I have vulnerabilities of my own), and you cosider that "grade school behavior" that serves no purpose. Could your perceptions on this get any more upside-down than that? Please, take your own advise about thinking before you post.
