There, you did it again. Pointing the finger, while espousing the 'look inward/don't blame' philosophy.
Like I said, almost every post...
Good point...and one I will introspectively consider, particularly since it ironically sets such a wonderful example of self-reflectiveness. ;-)
Yanno what I hate when Wade participates in these debates?
They somehow shift from the op premise to just a back and forth of "I'm rubber you're glue" It's frustrating. It always devolves into this. Wade, not saying that's your fault -- yet, you don't help.
It always starts with Wade responding to how posters have responded to the OP. Then those posters reply to Wade. Then Wade says he's not saying whatever it is that they say he's saying.

Yeah, sorry, my bad. I couldn't help it this time. The hypocritical bullcrap is just too much sometimes...

Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Wade has a very, very long history of ping pong.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

You're right, I did it again. Sorry. No more ...on this thread

If it is of any consolation, I dislike it as well--though I am trying various things (internally and externally) to resolve it. But, I am not sure I can resolve it on my own other than not responding to those few with whom I share this as a persistent problem. We'll see.
For me to do so may serve to further cement you in your false perception (not that your perception isn't already dysfunctionally cemented). I care to much about you to pay you that disservice. ;-)
Thanks, -Wade Englund-
I get it. You're just in it for the fight, aren't you? It doesn't matter who's right or wrong. Well, I guess I can respect that in some primitive, fight-to-survive type way. Good on ya!
But I was under the impression that I was dealing with someone who would listen to reason. I guess not. So, I'm done here.

That was an interesting conversation you just had with yourself. I hope you enjoyed it.
So, I'm done here.
Good...now those of us who are inclined can get back to reasonably discussing the issue at hand--hopefully now lettng each party speak for themselvcs.

Nephi could be a bully, Captain Moroni had a temper, both Almas were naïve, Mormon was rash, Jacob favored one wife over the other, Moses could be impatient, Elijah liked to jeer, Jeremiah tried to quit, Hezekiah feared death too much, Joseph Smith was easily offended and overly confident in his plans, Brigham Young was overly authoritarian, and down the line till today.
Are you able to criticize current leaders in the same way, such as "Hinckley is overly concerned about PR in his media comments?" I'm not saying you must. It just appears to me that fallibility only seems to apply to previous prophets, not the current one.
Krose,
It’s the nature of any religious doctrinal shift. The new replaces the old. Information and education necessarilycontaminates the doctrines and interpretations of the past.
The key is doctrinal shift as it is well documented in the evolution of religious mythologies.
Generally, it is not until a generation dies off that the impact of such shifts are incorporated, with doctrine-makers never acknowledging that, in fact, a shift is being made.
