I went back and read the OP more carefully and you're correct. He did confirm his identity. Glaring mistake on my part. Now let me ask you this. Did Liz confirm via IP to you who he was or not? I'm not asking if she shared the IP itself, I'm asking if she shared the confirmation with you.
Jersey Girl, Liz told me who it was. I sent her a PM asking because I'd seen her say something on the board, "Welcome back..". Sort of the same thing I saw you do with another poster that you assumed was someone else. Liz confirmed that it was who I had suspected. She didn't say it was the same IP, but I knew that she would have checked that for confirmation. Because that's the only ways mods can confirm an identity. I won't post her PM on this board (or anyones for that matter) but she replied in the affirmative that it was definitely him.
Wait - so are you saying that Liz did NOT say that she checked IP addresses to verify the identity? And that you made the assertion that she did check IP addresses based on the fact that you "knew that she would have checked that for confirmation"? See, I could have just have easily said it was definitely "him" based on posting style, but would not have needed an IP address for confirmation. So before Liz is condemned for checking IP addresses and reporting on them, let's be clear on this fact. Which is it?
I know Liz can check IPs to identify posters. There was an instance on this board where it was very important that an IP be checked. I know Liz can check IPs and I know she has the ability to check them against other posters to see if sockpuppetry has been going on. This was for an in real life risk to my safety purpose.
I don't know what Liz did or did not do in this instance with the IP addresses. I'm telling you I know she confirmed it was him. I assumed it was an IP check because really that's the only way you know. But she didn't share the IP with me. She told me she knew it was him since he first posted.
My reading comprehension must suck today - went back and looked at the first posts in this thread, and I guess Liz confirmed that she had checked IP addresses:

I changed his handle in the quote to "HE". So as to not continue outing him in this thread. Did you quote me? When you do that can you go in and bold my words? Change the words? Snip them? YES YOU CAN! That is what I did! I can't change her posts! *lil hissy*
