As I stated, this is what I was told.. I can't verify it.
I have been told first hand from the children (non-believers) of two patriarchs that their parents have had the ritual. (In both cases the children were not told but found out in various ways).
I would ask, are you SURE? How would you know? From what I was told couples are not supposed to even tell their children. Could it be that your parents have had it done but are following the command to not disclose the information?
I'm not second guessing you just wondering... :-)

My family has had multiple conversations about this ritual because my sister had hers done before she passed away. The most recent of those discussions was when my mother was dying of cancer in 2006 and the family (all the siblings and our spouses) got together for intimate family meetings which almost always includes testimony bearing of some sort. Neither my mom or dad mentioned it. It is possible that they might have been sworn to secrecy, but as we have already been open about my sister's situation, I would be very surprised if they have just kept quiet.
You are entirely right, though. Maybe they're just keeping quiet. My father is remarrying outside of the temple in March, however, and I would think that if he had been through the CAEMS he would have done the marriage ceremony inside the walls of the temple. He is marrying but is not being sealed to another woman as she is sealed to her first husband and dad was sealed to my mom.

Probably.

If I recall correctly he stated that all patriarchs, temple presidents, mission presidents have their CaEMS, and what surprised me is that he said there were many more than I would imagine who have partaken in the ritual. He said it is usually older couples but there would be several in most wards. He stated that there were "thousands and thousands" of couples around the world. (That is a quote, can't verify it in any way).

I'd love to see the scriptural basis for this. Perhaps I should rephrase that: I'd love to see the scriptural basis for this, exempting the D&C and POGP, neither of which do I believe are God-breathed.
