Christianity vs Mormonism

Post by _GoodK »

I'd like to hear the reasons why Christianity is true, literally, but not Mormonism. I disbelieve Mormonism because I don't believe in a God at all. I think Christianity is just as ridiculous - and false - as Mormonism, but I'm willing to consider some good evidence and argument...

Goodk,

this issue could go in the Terrestrial if you'd like it to be there (more readers).

As to Christianity vs Mormonism, the Bible has some archaeological evidence, suggesting that the events could have happened (as opposed to the Book of Mormon, where the evidence is totally absent). That being said, it's still a leap of faith, but I think the Christians have more to stand on than the Mormons.

*shrugs*

Bond, you're back :)

Yes, I noticed I accidentally posted it here, but I second guessed myself and thought that someone might have moved it.

Heck yeah...I doubt I'll ever be gone (I'm like The Force).

I'll move it to the Terrestrial then.

Well because the Bible says it's true of course.

Also because America is a Christian nation and we're also the most successful nation in the world. Coincidence? I think not.

(These are not my answers actually but my summation of quite a few religious discussions.)
Insert ironic quote from fellow board member here.

Why do you think Christianity is just as ridiculous -and false-as Mormonism?

Ack! Who cares? Religion is relative. If it works for you, then go by that. We will never stop disputing religion. EVER! Because we will never know for sure. There will always be doubts and questions even if the big man came down himself and told the entire world. Because then we would doubt our sanity. Or if it really was God. Loads of things. Just take what feels right to you and live by that. We all have such different views that really there cannot possibly ever be a perfect religion.

But back to the topic. I thought Mormonism was Christianity. Or maybe you mean like methodists. Those guys are coolio.

You should write bumperstickers, pirate. You'd be good at it.
