Wow.

So when my mum, sis, bro and co. come visiting now and again, I'm gonna think of them as those 'crazies' who keep 'claiming' to be my family?

Nice.

Mon,
Yeah - bizarre and crazy are pretty good words to go with.
...although - in truth - I prefer it to the whole 'People literally burn in hell for eternity for their beliefs' thing...

Swings and roundabouts.

Well, as it seems likely there is no sex in the TK that option might be out.

OK, lets go with this for a sec.

1. Why do you equate living as a family unit with sex?

A family is comprised of children, grandparents, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, grandchildren, and even loved ones who are not necessarily related. And, a husband and wife can still live as a family even if there is no sex.

2. Who says there is no sex in any other kingdom than the CK? How does anyone know this? Do the bodies of CK folks not funtion the same way as TR folks even though they are all resurrected?

Any official doctrine on this? ;-)

3. To my original point...(I'm going with the LDS ideas here for a sec), if sex is available in the afterlife for those who believe in Joseph Smith and those non-test takers, and assuming most folks love sex, how can a member say the TR is heaven if one considers sex a part of heaven yet are denied sex?

Does that make sense? (smile) In other words, the idea that heaven is exactly what would make someone the most happy as is asserted by some apologists, and if sex is included in what one thinks is heavenly, to suggest that they will be happy without sex means they are not in heaven.

I only said that it seems likely. It was a guess.

I was thinking about doing the reverse on earth. If I hooked my wife up with some special virtual reality goggles, she could change how I appear to her without changing my appearance to anyone else. She tells me she wants me to go bald, but I wanna keep my hair. I think this VR thing would be a great compromise.

Just to put fuel on the fire, I heard speculation that even in the CK, only the highest kingdom allows families to be together. I also heard speculation that the other two kingdoms are equal in glory, but that one side contains males and the other side contains females. That way they can break up families who aren't sealed and they can also prevent sex.

Of course, none of that is official doctrine. Well, maybe the part about families only being together in the highest part of the CK (exaltation).

I also heard that the TL is much better than this life. I can hardly imagine how this would be so without being able to visit friends and family who are in the same kingdom. If we can't visit, can we at least video chat?

Another odd thing to keep in mind is that we're all family in the first place. It would seem that the only way the afterlife could keep me from my family would be to put me in solitary confinement. Last I heard, people go insane in solitary after just a little while. I wonder what an eternity of it would do? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad with video chat.

truth dancer wrote:Ohhh also Nehor,

Believers teach the "sex in heaven" idea as a little carrot to reach the CKHL...

Only one problem, for women, how often does she get to have sex as a harem may very well be filled with millions of "sister wives"?

Like once million years or so?

Might as well be in the TR. ;-)

The idea is to have as many children as possible, so I bet there will be a way of your husband doing multiple wives at once. Like God and Mary.
