Needy Attention Whores

I'm apparently a needy attention whore 'cause when I talk about my life (like others talk about theirs), share my opinions, etc... it seems bizarre to people.
That is what I get for not growing up a Mormon! Shame on me!
I will try to place my hair in a tight bun, wear a jumper, and talk about how exciting drinking is for the first time in all other posts. That should do, no?

A needy attention whore who is wise in the ways of reverse psychology, I see.
I will readily admit to being an attention whore. Hell, you don't think I spend all this time foruming for my health, do you? :-P I also check my blog stats every night. Speaking of which, I was looking at the list of things people have searched my blog for and there were several searches for "bokovoy". I could only think of one person who would care that much whether I was writing about Mr. Bokovoy, and it amuses me that I caught him in the act. Vanity surfing at its best. :)

Did you say something?

LMAO
That was so me at the age of 12 or so. I never even believed in the truth of church, but I always liked standing up and giving talks/speeches/presentations, and testimony meeting was a free opportunity every month! I have no doubt that my dad really thinks I was a believer at one time, not getting it that I considered myself an "actor in training." Friggin' kids... *shakes head at self*
Am I a needy attention whore? Hmph. I guess maybe I am, to a degree (although certainly not as much as I was when I was younger... I also remember once when I was about 26ish going weekly for a year or so to a comedy club where this hypnotist did his Wednesday show, and would pretend to be hypnotized just to have a free ticket to acting silly in public to the sounds of applause and acceptance, for goodness sake! Man that was fun!) I mean, how does one explain the need to do stand up comedy at all (something else I did as a young adult)? What fuels the enjoyment derived from making people laugh?
The thing is, I don't feel the need for attention at all like a I used to. I'm very comfortable with who I am and how people regard me. I don't get upset when people don't respond to my posts (it seems to be a pretty common phenomenon for posters to feel ignored in message boards like this; I've read it time and time again).
But I can't really dispute what you're saying here, Runtu. The question is whether "needy attention whore" might be overstating the human phenomenon you're talking about or not. Isn't this relative at all? Don't we all, as social human beings, thrive somewhat on feedback? Don't we all like people to talk to us? I think there are needy whores, and then there are REALLY NEEDY WHORES."
Interesting topic to think about.

God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

I'm so glad you finished that sentence with "..a kiss right now!" My eyebrows went up for a second.

I, for one, do not think you are a needy attention whore. I think that there are some on this board that are (who should know that a particular word is "plaintive" and not "plaintiff"), but for the most part I think most folks here are people with a few common interests who like to exchange thoughts and ideas, on both sides of the issues.

Oh, crumbs. I didn't even think I was an attention whore. I mean, I know I like attention, and all, but still. Being ignored doesn't bother me that much--at least I don't think so.

That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Crap.
Not you. I'm referring to another thread that shall not be given any further attention.
