I think Charity beat you to that title. She doesn't even have to start a thread asking for criticism :)

Whoa now, lets not get the chariot before the tapir here bubba. Was it a fierce look of determination?

Actually, it was more like a cringing look of determination--like what you see on the face of the guy in the green shirt below:

Ok, umm...

Well, you do order a burrito with a fried egg on top.

That's pretty weird...

Mister Scratch?

I'm not into cannibalism. :-) I like Scratch, so we'll save his flesh.

Now, Bond cookies sound yummy. *grin*

Well...it took a while for things to really get going and for some people to catch on, but I am pleased to see us joking good-naturedly here rather than snarling at each other. I so much prefer it this way.

Anyway, if interested, feel free to continue with the Wade roast. I will check in on the thread periodically and contribute when my funny bone is tickled.

In truth, one of the reasons I started this thread was to have a place to direct people to when they feel inclined to make some snarky, off-topic remark about me on other threads. They now can come here in hopes of "curing" what ails them.

I very much appreciate all the participation, but most especially the somewhat brilliant jocularity. I haven't laughed this hard and long in years. And, though I have a side-ache now, I am fine with that--it is certainly preferred to the mild nausea I felt prior to starting this thread--and, no, the nausea wasn't from the Burrito that Scottie mentioned. ;-)

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

GIMR wrote: Wade, in my opinion, ain't nothing "wrong" with you. This is a person who has sermonized to you on one occasion, and argued with you plenty. I'm sure you're a good guy. You just tend to judge a bit too much. Anyone who doesn't agree with your view of the church has something mentally or emotionally wrong with them, it's always the exmo that needs fixing. That's far from true. I would hope you know this. There are plenty of well-rounded and intelligent people here. Stop assuming that they're broken inside because they don't agree with the tenets of the LDS church.

Sure, some are more angry in their expressions than others. Me, I've pretty much let it all go. I don't have much to say about it anymore, even the subject of racism. I just don't want to argue about anything anymore. Too tired. But there are still people here for whom the subject of Mormonism is still a hot topic, and they deserve to be able to discuss it without you assuming they're mental. By the way, what happened to your support website.

Lay off that (thinking all exmos are nuts) and I'll give you a cookie. Made from scratch, which is a feat for me.

Hi GMIR,

Good to hear from you again. I hope all is going well for you.

If it is of any consolation, from what little I have observed of you over the last half year or so, I do believe that you have "let it go", and have moved on. I can't even recall the last time you participated in group pilling on me, let alone disrupted a thread with a personal sneer in my direction. And, even though I am modestly puzzled with your telling me there is nothing wrong with me, and then proceeding to list several things you see as wrong with me, I am not sure there is much value in your participating on this thread, except perhaps in setting a good example of what real healing looks like--that is, unless you wish to join in the good-natured fun at my expense.

As for the cookies you made from scratch, my mouth is watering for them, but I know that I am not worthy to have any since it is likely that some exmo's here will believe that I think they are nuts and am "laying on" them--though I do appreciate the offer.

Now, back to flogging me. ;-)

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Hey Wade,

I guess you could say that I've let go. But for me, that's because I had such a flimsy connection to the church...I was only a member for five years, I have no family in the church. Other than the friends that I have (who for the most part respect my choice), when I left the church, my interaction with it ended. So the issues for me did.

When I said there was nothing wrong with you, I meant as a person. I try to separate what people do from who they are. I've come across a lot of abusive people in life, and especially in my personal life, I'm trying to see past what people have done to me to who they are inside. I commented on things I've seen you do...which may just be a reflex on your part at this time. It doesn't mean you're hideous.

For the most part, I try to believe that even the most vitriolic person on this board has a kind or soft spot. I know that at least lately, I'm a different person than my online persona. I'm much quieter. If anyone were to meet me in person, I'd want them to respect both aspects of who I present, here and in real life. So I'm working on trying to do that with others.

I haven't really be on in a while, but you don't seem to be posting on this particular thread in your old style of complexity. But we all undergo metamorphoses from time to time, eh?

One day I'll cook. But then again, if I find a man who can.... :-)
