Mormons who become Gods will have no choice, no agency, no decision making power. You will do exactly what your God did, and his God did. You will create worlds identical to what has gone on before, have sex for billions of years with possibly thousands of wives, and make worlds in order to bring forth the eternal salvation of mankind. Nothing else matters.
Quit with the "I won't make this... I won't do this... I'll do this" crap.
Mormonism isn't about choices. It isn't about free will or agency. It is all about strict obedience.
You really think you're going to do what you want? What a load of crap. You will do what you are told or you will not be a God.
Mormonism isn't about choice or agency or freedom.
Mormonism is about obedience.
The choice is not yours. Loose yourself in Jesus Christ and become like him - not like you. He did what his father did, and his father did what his father did. If you decide to change the rules, then you are nothing more than a deceiver.
It is a long line of pure obedience.
Obey. Obey. Obey.
Buzzkill.
Boy, nobody can wreck a fun, lighthearted thread like ol' Infy, eh?

Ihad a friend once who had the same idea infymus had. If you were Mormon you weren't free to chose to do all kinds of things, like smoke. That was his big one. He wouldn't obey. He would show how independent he was, and he chose to smoke. Now, he is really independent. Well, as long as he can cart his oxygen machine behind him. But he isn't free to chose to go up stairs in his house. He can't chose to go to his favorite bar, because people light up cigarettes there and that might blow him up. He isn't free to chose to sing anymore, because he barely has enough breath to talk.

But he sure was free to chose to smoke.
I like like your defintion of free, infymus.
It's funny, because for a long time, I had a hard time wrapping my mind around what a straw man actually was. But you really are a master at them, Charity! They are so easy to pick out when you do them.
Thanks for helping me! :)

I think there might be some leeway in what you can do. You might be able to make it so that earrings are good on men (one pair), but not on women. You might also make it disrespectful to shave--no getting in the testing center without a beard.

What part of cosmic galactic power scares your small mind so much that you think it will be relegated to a rigid lockstep? Gods are independent. A subservient God is not a God.
I pity you Infymus. You can't envision that perfection can have infinite variation. I see the worst of humanity falling into sameness and the best rising to glorious differences.

As has been pointed out before, it is impossible to be all knowing and all powerful at the same time. If you know what's going to happen, you are powerless to change it. And if you do change it, then you didn't know for real how it was going to go.
So if you know how the god thing is supposed to go, you are basically impotent, at least, with respect to what you may personally want. Infy nailed it here.
Have fun with your powerlessness, Mormons!
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Any change from the LDS God would insinuate that God was not perfect? So are you a clone, essentially, of the perfect LDS God when you become a God?
Sheesh, I hope that makes sense!
It makes loads of sense. I once asked this question several years ago when I was one of those people that tried to trip the missionaries up. LOL. I was only young, that must have been rather intimidating.
I was told, that because we are told the right way to go, we will have kingdoms exactly the same as God's. They would not differ. To me that's a load of buul. The whole point of evolving and becoming greater is taking the weak points and making them strong. God could not possibly be perfect, otherwise we would not be able to become gods. Also if God were perfect, why then would he need to creat kingdoms? Is it because in some ways God himself is still under control by his own god? Is there something God still has to accomplish? Why the need then for all this?

Knowledge is power. but then your second sentence is also true. I think it depends on the type of knowledge. I had a dream last night and in my dream I had woken up from my dream and I knew everything that was going to happen. I didn't want these things to happen, but I was also too scared to change them incase I changed the world or something. And so in my dream I did something as simple as tell someone about my dream and this simple thing changed the whole out come. There were still some similarities, but where I was previously throwing stones in a lake, I was sat down at a table with a family eating a meal. This was a huge difference. Harhar, I can see the sunset from my window. Why did I always keep my curtains shut? See what i missed.
