I heard one scientist suggest that the global warming was acutally moving us toward a Garden of Eden type existence, climate wise. Which is what we have been all along is going to happen.

Isn't the earth supposed to burn first?

Is that before or after the ocean covers New York, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Taipei, and (my personal favorite) Sacramento?

I'm not too optimistic; I think women will get the priesthood first.
But you never know. I've noticed that the rhetoric has become much tamer in recent years. Some leaders are actually suggesting that 'gayness' may be innate instead of a choice, but that remaining celibate is the important thing in such cases. Plus, the upcoming generation is much more accepting, even in the church; it's not that big a deal to most of them.
As more people have friends and relatives who are open about their orientation, the more acceptance grows. And the more one sees what they go though when trying to fight their natural inclinations for religious and social reasons, the more untenable the claim that it's a choice becomes.

Amsterdam? Almost all of the Netherlands will be underwater: Rotterdam, Utrecht, Alkmaar, Delft, and The Hague. Well, I guess at least part of Arnhem might survive, but I suspect in this case people will worry about a bridge too low instead of a bridge too long.
That's General Leo. He could be my friend if he weren't my enemy.

Of course it is possible for the church to change their views on same sex marriage.
The Lord commands saints live the united order, but wait, the saints aren't ready to handle it yet so cancel that.
The Lord commands no divorce, but wait, the saints aren't ready to handle this yet either, so cancel this.
The Lord commands a man and woman ( women) be sealed, but wait, saints are ready to handle this, so cancel it. Gay and lesbian couples are fine.
Simple. Further light and knowledge. Line upon line.
But what about the next life?
Ohhh God will get it all worked out. You have to have faith.
But what about all the prophets statements, and doctrine stating that Gayness is wrong?
Just opinion.
No problem!
:-)
On another note... I think it will not be too long in the future when the ancient myths will be relegated to, well, myth. ;-)
It is not that far off when humans won't even need to have sex to have children. When the pleasure and fun of sex can be had in a little pill, or a quick stim to the right place in the brain. Humans will become more conscious of their existence and many current beliefs will disappear... just like they always have.
The religions of the world (as we know them today), will become totally obsolete and impractical.

This would not be progress. This would be really unfair.

People have been saying this for countless generations. It doesn't seem to happen. It sounds like that dismal depressing song "In the year 2525".

Hi Harmony...
2525 is not nearly long enough. ;-)
Humans have only been around for what, 150,000 years or so?
Think what has happened in the last ten thousand years? If I recall correctly the changes that take place in a year today equals to the changes that have taken place in the previous thousand years... (or something like this).
Give us another hundred thousand years (if we survive this long), and I'm thinking human life will be completely different!
Of course I could be wrong... LOL!
