Clean Flix was recently closed down by Hollywood for editing movies to remove objectionable material.

The owner tried to get the 14 year old girls to star in a porn movie:
Thompson told the 14-year-olds that his film sanitizing business was a cover for a pornography studio. He asked the girls if they would participate in making a porn movie, but they refused, the documents state.

Joseph Smith would be proud of this man!

I wonder if Thompson was going to call his porn movie business "Flaming Sword Productions"?

The whole thing is so lame.

#1. Making pornographic movies isn't illegal. Why try to hide it behind another business?

#2. 14 year olds rarely look like 18 year olds. Mostly they're just barely into puberty and have skinny arms and legs. They usually look like children, because they are still children. Difficult to believe he thought she was 18.

#3. Good for the mom, for following up after she found unexplained money.

#4. Anyone who pays for sex can usually be catagorized in the "loser" box. So a 31 year old paying for a blow job (or thinking it was a freebie?) from a 14 year old is definitely a loser.

They are also U.S. citizens. So, your sentence may better read: "The hypocritical North American Mormon owners of Clean Flix..."

Oh...wait...they are also in the movie business. So, perhaps it would be better to say: "The hypocritical North American Hollywood-type Mormon owners of Clean Flix..."

But, then, they are also youthful men. So, how about: "The hypocritical young male North American Hollywood-type Mormon owners of Clean Flix..."

I am sure there are other groupings we can link to the disgusting acts charged against these men (which some seem to have judged guilty prioor to trial). Feel free to do so if it suits your purposes.

Thanks, -Wade Englund-

Wade these people were not in "the movie business," they were in an anti-movie business dedicated to peverting the original films. Neither their censorship company nor their alledged porn business could accurately be called "Hollywood-type" anything. Clean Flix was an abomination.

So what are Mormons who need their Hollywood fix to do now? Go without entirely? Or actually just stop being stupid and watch the damn movie?
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

If they are found guilty, it is likely that they will become ex-Mormon, and then their crime can be used by those inclined to smear the former Mormons: ""The hypocritical young male North American Hollywood-type ex-Mormon owners of Clean Flix..." ;-)

Thanks, -Wade Englund-
Not exactly.

If they do become exmormons, the Mormons will use it to scare other members.

"Look what happened to those two from simply looking at R rated content! Not only did the become pornographers, but even WORSE, they left the church!

I think it's pretty obvious that Clean Flix's target market was Mormons, and I'm sure that chances are fair that a resident of Orem would be a Mormon, but can anyone say for a fact that these 2 dudes are indeed LDS? It's a safe assumption, sure, but does anyone know?

Thanks, and please pardon my piss-on-a-parade like skepticism.

There's nothing that says that any of the people (men, girls, or mom) were Mormon. PP is assuming again.

Wade, I'm appalled that you would defend, or cast a lesser light upon, this kind of behavior just as a means of engaging in Mopologetics. You are so over-the-top worried that someone might note that these guys were LDS that you are willing to downplay the actual crime. You need to pull your head out of your butt, Bro. Englund.

I'm fairly certain that the two guys (or at least one of them) was LDS. I seem to recall having read an article somewhere stating this, though I could be wrong. Certainly, the LDS Church has listed Cleanflicks as a "valuable resource," and the TBMs on MAD have sung its praises often enough.
