I think liz is referring to the little "talk" the temple matron has with first timers. I was told to never let the garments touch the floor, not to wear them to the doctor (maybe they tell people that more in the mission field where it's like the doc isn't LDS), to step into them with my right foot first, and to wash them with respect and care. I never would throw them in the wash with other clothes due to those instructions. One of my companions and I discussed some of these rules on my mission, and she hadn't been told the same thing in CA. She scoffed at the "right foot first" like it was a silly superstition. Imagine. ;)

That's exactly what I was referring to. We were also told never to throw the garments away unless you cut out the symbols first.

I was also told to cut out the markings and burn them. Then the garmies could be used as regular rags.

I was told to never let them touch the floor and to wash them only with other whites. Nothing about which foot first and nothing about the doctor. One friend of mine said she was told to not wear them during her monthly cycle, but I never heard that.

WTF? An ignore button is anti-free speech? So if I choose to turn off the TV during a certain show, is THAT anti-free speech?

I think having an ignore button would reduce some of the bickering.

Me too. What does one do with 35 years worth of markings? And these g's would make pretty pathetic rags.
