Westboro Baptist to Picket Hinckley's Funeral

The members of Westboro Baptist Church are absolutely deplorable. I can only feel pity for people so distorted by anger and hatred. They must be miserable. Westboro has a long list of people they claim are going to hell, but I cannot imagine a hell worse than being a bigoted, angry, hate monger, like those supposed Christians.

If you really want to be sick, take a look at their website. Apparently, God hates America, Catholics, the Marine Corps, Sweden, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Fags, Fag enablers...and that's as far as I got. I'm sure there are many more people supposedly hated by God, and I'm sure I'm one of them.

God hates Canada? Never heard that one before! What's not to love? :)

I don't get their argument (as outlined on the brochure in your link): "God hates fags... *ergo* God hates Hinckley". How does that follow, exactly?

Picketing a funeral. Wow. They must have run out of better ideas.

I'm reading a (fiction) book right now about someone who is so intent on carrying out the work of Jesus Christ that he kills even his own group members to make things come to pass the way he thinks they should. Bizarre and twisted attitude eh? Just like these Baptists.

My best friend is a Baptist. A sweeter, kinder woman you could not meet. I think she does the Baptist thing differently!

What's with the bigotry kim and seth? They're just doing what they believe god has told them to do. Perhaps the holy ghost has even told them this is what they're supposed to be doing. What if they're the correct religion, and they are indeed trying their damndest to save people?

Remember, criticizing religion is off limits. Or is it - criticizing only the Mormon religion is off limits whereby you're subjected to the 'bigotry' calls?

Part of me really hopes there is a God because people like that will have some explaining to do.

Keep in mind that Westboro Baptist Church is utterly independent and separate from any other Baptist organization. They're Baptists only because they call themselves such, but I rather believe the other Baptists would have nothing to do with them if given the choice.

Oh, he and his 10 sorry followers picketed a local funeral and were surrounded by bikers driving very noisily around their pitiful protest. They were booed out of town.

I despise Shirley Phelps even more than Fred. Anyone interested ( I wish I could post a link, but my office computer and You Tube aren't allowed to hang out ) should do a You Tube search of her name if you need a good laugh. She was on the radio earlier this week talking about her plans to protest Heath Ledger's funeral too. Australia doesn't allow that sort of thing and she would have been arrested, so instead she said she will protest the Oscars (?). She's just a media whore.
