Sorry, but I refuse to blindly accept McCue's accusations...I'd like to read the offending article myself.
I'll say it again. I want to read the actual article and I am annoyed that I can't. I realize Bob McCue feels he's been libeled, but if he's going to make accusations then he should not be telling people to withhold the proof of what he claims.
Having others tell what the article said still leaves the problem of possible bias and just isn't good enough.
Does anyone else think we should actually read the article before taking sides?
I don't think Bob himself has made any accusations. As far as I know he just mentioned (on another board as reported by Trinity) that he'd read it through quickly and saw quotes taken out of context etc. He didn't talk in detail about the article at all. Perhaps he has written more since I saw the post Trinity directed us to.
Some of us here HAVE read it and other pages of accusatory "analysis" on the FAIR wiki (some now gone as well, but some still up). I made a copy, but I'm not posting the whole thing here, though I've described specific parts people asked me about.
I'll send you a copy if you email me (I think you still have my email, if not drop me a pm). It won't be until much later tonight because I'm at work and my files are on my computer at home.

Once you get it, I'd be interested to know whether you think it is an appropriate article for the FAIR Wiki. I've gone through it all, and cannot believe that they were foolish enough to write it up, let alone publish it on their site.

FAIR is not known for its humility. Perhaps this is another instance of them being hoist with their own petard.

For Skippythedead, Blixa and anyone else interested in my feelings after reading the article;
That article was extremely disturbing--best that it was pulled and hopefully the RFM posts are no longer available.
For starters, I could not believe that Bob McCue would violate his wife's privacy by posting his marital difficulties on a public message board! What could he have possibly been thinking?!!!!.
As for the actual article, I'm extremely disturbed that someone at FAIR thought it was a good idea to violate McCue's wife's privacy further by posting that article. It was an extremely unprofessional way to engage a critic--to justify it because he is a critic of the church and he set himself up for it by posting such intimate information--is still inexcusable. No doubt that is why it was pulled.
As for Bob McCue trying to sue someone--how does he possibly have a leg to stand on? The fool set himself up by posting all that information on a public board!!!!
He handed the ammunition to his opponents on a silver platter..and then cried "No fAIR!" when they loaded their guns and shot him with it.

I hate to play devil's advocate (really, I don't hate it at all) but, how do you know that he violated his wife's privacy?
