If you're talking to me, I take issue with the "pretend they are still believers" part.
I don't pretend to be anything. When I attend as a visitor out of town, I am there as a guest.
When I attend locally, I am there as a guest, and most people in that ward are aware I am no longer a member.
There might be people who've left the church who'd be perfectly happy to see it implode, but they don't generally go in as suicide bombers.
Hana, you are being paranoid! If the description doesn't fit you, then why should you get all up in the air?
This is what I see over and over here. I make a statement about a person of a specific description, and then all that comes back is "Are you talking about me?" Only if you are the like the person I described. If you aren't, then cool your jets.

But I don't know how a person who says they can't stand the "fact" that there are lies, etc. in the Church can live a lie themselves.
Do you deny that some of those who express their hatred of the Church on this board who are still attending aren't trying to sink the Church surreptitiously?
If you're referring to PP(Boaz), Merc, and Infymus, none of them attend Church on a regular basis. PP doesn't attend at all. I believe that Merc and Infymus occasionally attend Church for extended family functions.
Rollo Tomasi comes to mind. He has said he is an active member. But he is as dangerous as they come with some of the things he has said he has done, and the attitudes he has.
Harmony has expressed such disdain for the prophets and leaders, doctrines and practices of the Church, that the only way she can be getting a temple recommend, which she says she has, is be blinking, swallowing hard and keeping her fingers crossed during the temple recommend interview.
These are exactly those that Will described in the quoted paragraph.

No man can know the heart of another. So Will is out to lunch... again.

What the hell are ou worried about dearie? The spirit will witness to the bisho that they are impostors and they can be quietly led into the bishops storehouse and become chipped beef. The end.
Are you acting or are you really this out there? You are a caricature of Mormonism.

I thought Christ addressed this already with the whole wheat and tares thing.

Balderdash. No one is required to revere the prophets or the leaders in order to be considered a member in good standing. Disdain for prophets and leaders is not grounds for denying a temple recommend. Disdain for doctrines and practices is not grounds for denying a temple recommend. You're saying my bishop is not fulfilling his priesthood duty? Is not worthy of receiving appropriate inspiration about a member of his ward? You're secondguessing a priesthood leader? Don't go there, charity. That's the slippery slope to apostacy. Pretty soon you'll start thinking you know more than a duly set apart man of God, and it's all downhill from there.

It is found in question #4. Sustaining the prophets and the local leaders. Does your bishop know the content of your posts here calling the prophets liars and con men?

And furthermore what does your bishop think of your participation on a board that allows exmos on it without a muzzle?

We've had this conversation, charity. Sustaining does not equal revering.
And generally I only call Joseph a liar and a con man. And then only after he decided to take off the mantle of prophet, after which God rather unceremoniously took his life.
