The bold emphasis is mine.

And did you read the part where he said he gets his information from what the person says himself? Will didn't say anything about third hand gossip!

I'm trying to figure out how he thinks private conversations with family members, spouses, and children is any of his business. Charity, would you like to defend him here?

Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Since it appears that Runtu and Will have a real life connection(a mutual friend), I don't see how what Runtu was concluding was much of a stretch.

Yes, we all know how GOOD Mormons are at discerning a person's moral fiber by their COUNTENANCE and WORDS.

<cough Mark Hofmann cough>

What thread was this in, by the way? I want to see if any believing MADdites have enough moral fiber themselves to confront Will.

It is called "Rooting Out Unbelievers." It would be nice when someone brings something over fromthe MA&D board they would at least give us the title. Save us a lot of time.

Not at all. But then runtu did tell us publicly about some of those private conversations. I didn't repeat any of his public airing of his private business to anyone, myself.

Of course, none of us really know what is going on, do we? We hear runtu's side. We hear some rather obscure words from Will. But none of us have any personal information. Sort of makes it hard to discuss anything intelligently, wouldn't you say?

Yes, by one's "countenance," a good Mormon can discern (a.k.a. judge) others. You don't know how many times a Mormon has said how much I project a good spirit and peacefulness...until they find out I'm an exmo, then I'm possessed of Satan!

I mentioned one brief conversation with my daughter, which Will for whatever reason accused me of fabricating. How the hell does that constitute airing private business which can then be extrapolated into my continual undermining of my wife's and children's faith?

My side of what? Will knows me only from the boards and from a mutual acquaintance (who told Will I was a decent guy, I understand), but he finds it appropriate to say all kinds of things about my family life and hint that he has some inside knowledge. Do you really find this appropriate, charity? You have complained to me many times about my "smearing" of Joseph Smith because I interpret his actions differently than you do. But here you stand idly by while someone who does not know me or my family smears me based on no information whatsoever. You know, just once you could stand up for what is right, even if it does happen to benefit an apostate.

I am not standing up for Will. Did you read that in my reply to another post? So don't accuse me of something I'm not doing. But I did not see any hints at inside knowledge. As I posted, he said he knows things from the way a person looks and WHAT THEY SAY!

I don't think anyone should meddle in anyone else's private life. If someone can be shown to be going around sowing discord, then that ought to be dealt with.

I do hold the view that the struggling member, as Will mentioned in his post, should be supported and helped as much as we can. The person who has decided he has definitely lef the Church, but stays a nominal member and tries to convince others to his point of view should be stripped of the protection of the membership of the Church he now despises.

Then why in the HECK did he mention "small world" and a "mutual friend"???
