I'm sure Jersey Girl can speak for herself, but I do know that she did not believe Shades was responsible for any of those posts and was so upset that cal banned SHADES that she refused to participate on Z any longer. Everyone that was familiar with this incident knew it wasn't Shades and was connected with the "Itchy" blog.
Shades, are you absolutely certain it was Juliann? I always suspected juliann had a hand in the Itchy blog, as some of the commentary really sounded like her, but didn't know if any of this had been uncovered with a high degree of certainty. If the Z troll was Julian, that would certainly explain cal's otherwise inexplicable behavior. Cal and Juliann are very close, and when I was a mod, cal would recuse herself from any decisions regarding Juliann due to her personal bias that she felt she could not set aside. Of course, when she returned to the dead Z and tried to fix it up a bit, she was probably acting alone as moderator. Her decision to ban Shades was bizarre and inexplicable, unless she was very angry at him herself for some reason. I think the fact that their real names were used was an excuse, at least in regards to Juliann, since her own friends, while at Z, praised Juliann for a FARMS article she wrote, using her full name, and linked it.
by the way, a minor correction, Ray - I don't have special needs children (unless health issues counts as special needs), but have worked with them in the past. I agree that whoever concocted these Z posts demonstrated very little moral fiber. But it wasn't Shades.

We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Let me just pipe in for a sec... ;-)
I want to assure Ray that Shades never wrote all that $#@!. I have known Shades for years and can promise you that he would never write that nonsense.
Aside from the fact that he is a decent human being, as a friend I know he would not ever be cruel and disrespectful to me and my children.
Not a chance.
I am not totally sure who was the sock puppet but there are only a few folks who I think would do such a thing. Shades is definitely not one of them.

Ray, you seriously thought those bits you quoted in the OP were Shades? With smilies even? Good god, man, the phrasing alone was enough to make me certain it wasn't him---but the smilies??? Even before I read the rest of the thread I knew this was some lame-ass sock puppetry. It wasn't a convincing spoof on any level. And that's just the style. The content---heh, heh, let me spill our secret nefarious plot here in public where the poor saps we're gonna dupe and skewer will read it---is absurdly unbelievable.

You'd have to do more than exercise poor judgment to do that, Ray.
Julie has a history of using sockpuppets when they suit her, while that might not be well known to you. Of course she will deny it; if she admitted it, it would render the SP's ineffective.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.

I can't decide whether Ray is just being stupid here, or...
Hmph. Not sure there's a plausible alternative.
Your impersonation of Scratch was pitiful. Scratch never gets all emotional and irrational like you did, and he tends to portray things with a fair degree of accuracy (at least, it gives the impression of accuracy, which is a lot more than I can say for the rubbish you wrote in the OP). About the only similarity between your post and one of his is the pattern of quoting, then commentary; that's it.
I think this is a great example of how poor your reading comprehension really is, not to mention your lack of quality writing.

God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Ray A wrote:So, in other words, just about everyone on that thread was a sockpuppet. And you never posted there?
Correct on both counts.
It was all a Mormon conspiracy.
No, it was a Juliann conspiracy.
And Jersey Girl didn't realise this.......?
Are you kidding? She was the very first one to realize this! She was the one who alerted harmony and myself to the shenanigans.
Ray A wrote:The basic question I have, Shades, is whether Jersey Girl recognises, accepts, and agrees that what you are saying is the truth. That you bear no responsibility, whatsoever, for any posts on that thread.
Fewer things in life are more certain.
She was my champion from the get-go. I think she complained to calrobinson even more than I did. She was the one who was responsible for calrobinson instituting the latest rule (paraphrasing), "you can only complain to the moderators about an issue involving yourself. You cannot complain on behalf of others."
(If memory serves, calrobinson even banned Jersey Girl for sticking up for me. Enough people complained about the banning--even on a forum as dead as that one--that Jersey Girl was reinstated. As beastie notes, Jersey Girl left of her own volition soon afterward out of protest over my own banning.)
beastie wrote:Shades, are you absolutely certain it was Juliann?
No, not quite 100% certain.
beastie wrote:If the Z troll was Julian, that would certainly explain cal's otherwise inexplicable behavior.
Yes, which is another one of the reasons why I strongly believe it was Juliann.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Truth Dancer!

I wholeheartedly agree. That alone should've exposed her whole charade. Even if I was intending to do all the stuff falsely attributed to me by that sock-puppet, there's no way in Hell I'd go around publishing it on ZLMB for everyone to read.
Always Thinking wrote:Those posts are very clearly not written by Shades. It only took a few seconds of reading for me to figure it out. The style and substance are not even remotely similar to Shades'.
I wholeheartedly agree with that, too. I mean, c'mon, anyone who's known me for any length of time should know that, rather than end a sentence with, "K?", I'd rather be taken out and shot.
