- could I obtain a recommend in your stake if I :
-- openly believed the Documentary Hypothesis is an acceptable way to look at the construction of the Bible.
-- openly discussed the the Bible stories as myth and allegory - yes, all of them -
-- believed the Book of Mormon was a 19th century work of fiction..(pious fraud theory)
-- openly discussed the Masonic ceremony and Jewish mysticism as they compare to and enhance the modern LDS temple ceremony..
-- believed the Book of Abraham is not what Joseph Smith claimed it was. (more pious fraud)
-- believed and discussed openly that Joseph Smith as a very flawed man with severe personality disorders.
-- openly bore my testimony as a universalist/NOM with atheist leanings..
-- thought most LDS apologists are total ass-hats with a self inflated sense of importance.
-- wanted a open and truthful discussion of historical issues within the LDS paradigm starting from the TOP !!! at general freaking conference !!
-- drank an occasional cup of coffee, and only danish beer(google it)..

...and, how would you know and who of those that he surrounded himself with would tell you? (William Law, Joseph's brothers, David Whitmer?...)

Actually, the time might be better spent for the Stake Presidency and the apologists to get on the same page:
1) Was Noah's flood global or local?
2) Were Adam and Eve literally the first people on Earth, or were there pre-Adamites that go back hundreds of thousands of years?
3) Is it possible for a Mormon to believe in evolution?
4) Did the final battle of the Book of Mormon take place at the Hill Cumorah in New York, or at a different Hill Cumorah in Mesoamerica?
5) Were the horses mentioned in the Book of Mormon really horses, or something else, ie Tapirs, deer, etc.
6) Did the Book of Mormon events cover most of North and South America, or were they isolated to a tiny section of Mesoamerica?
7) Can a Mormon watch R-rated movies and remain in good standing?
8) Is tithing paid on gross or net? Or is tithing whatever the member decides?
9) Was polygamy instituted to take care of widow women?
10) Was this continent settled by Book of Mormon people, or were there already Native Americans here when the Jaredites and Nephites arrived?
Please return and report.

I'll only ask them that question if you provide me with your real name and your bishop's and stake president's phone number. You can send the information in a PM. It'll be our little secret.
Beastie is not a member so you cannot ferret her out.
But may I ask, why are they entertaining your ten questions anyway? For what reason are you and they doing this?

Jason, I suspect that William was testing a hypothesis, of sorts, that our 10 questions would fall into the category of something like "that's the best you can do, we've already dealth with all this stuff, but you're still harping on it?" He hoped to use this as ammunition to go back to the MAD board and say mean and nasty things about us about how we're all hung up on such trivial stuff.
But, I'm just making a wild guess.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."

I doubt that was really his intent. I just think he's a trouble-maker and attention whore. meh.
What you said is funny though. I re-read through the thread, and said to myself 'damn, how could anyone even remotely come close to believing any of this?' lol.

Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

9. Will my wife's leg hairs realy come back in the resurrection?
Along this same line, do God and Jesus have beards? How about the Holy Ghost even though he/she is a spirit? How can they have beards if hair is an out growth of dead skin cells? Is the hair merely for the heavenly style concious?
Another along this line...if all the spirits were used up from the premortal world and yet people were still hooking up and having kids, would they be born without a spirit? Pre-adamites all over again? <g>

If we're going to start asking organ questions might as well go for broke and ask if God has a penis....oh wait....Kerry Shirts proved He did...well strike that question off the list. ;o)

If God is all powerful, can he build a rock so big that even he can't lift it?
