Corruption of the Bible and changes in the 3SW

LDS assert that the Bible has been corrupted. When I attempted on ZLMB to pin down what this means, I got various answers and some evasions. The main answers were:

1) Texts were removed
2) Interpretations were incorrect.

I'm interested in other explanations. And when changes occur in the 3SW (4SW minus the Bible), does the corruption in the Bible also change?

There has been much work in the last century to identify the oldest version and get closer to the original Bible before it fell into the hands of the Great and Abominable Church. Why aren't LDS, especially FARMS and the like clamoring to publish and be involved in this work like the Dead Sea Scrolls? This should be a smoking gun confirming exactly what they have been saying, right?

Unfortunately this work has not helped their case any.

I just bought the NAB - New American Bible that has the apocrypha - I blew through Samuel, Kings and now I'm in Chronicles. Funniest things happen there - NO ONE was ever as wise as Solomon and never will be - they did what Christ did - feed a lot of people, raise the dead. I loved the dare of calling down fire to consume the captain and fifty soldiers - and with everyone fried there and another Captain comes down and gives (I think Elijah) another dare: POOF - the birds feeding him with bread. This whole thing puts the Lord of the Rings to shame. They Israelites - attacked and killed their neighbors and enslaved them to build their temples -

Using the King James version is like the Catholic church keeping things in Latin as it just keeps the flocks ignorant.

1 Nephi 13 contains the LDS definition of Bibical corruption. That is, it is corrupt because of removal. However, I would agree that some apologists appear to hold to a different view. Imho, this comes about by not researching what is meant by "as far as it is translated correctly". Any LDS person can agree with any Bible verse in a debate over LDS doctrine. Of course there are some small nit-picky things in the Bible, but most other Christians understand that pi is not exactly three and the Melchizadek has a father and a mother etc.
