Over on the "other" board, someone posted this fin
In surprising news today Al Gore announced that he was joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When asked why he stated that he was fascinated by the Nephite people and their ability to leave no footprint behind. "Any civilization that can figure out a lifestyle that has zero affect on their surroundings is one I wish to emulate."

And what was the source for the alleged statement by Gore?
That would seem to be important as we consider how much misstatement we find as groups or individuals cite people of public prominence.

LOL
Tell me they weren't serious when they posted that...
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

I think the OP was just repeating a joke he/she heard. Which made me laugh to think they would post it on MADB. I thought the joke was good, too.

It's a joke, and pretty funny.
