Mark 7 vs WoW

Post by _Scottie »

I posted this on MAD, but I'd like to hear your comments as well...

In Mark 7, Christ is being chastised by the Pharisees for eating bread with unwashen hands.

Christ responds:

Mark 7:15-23
15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.
16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.
18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;
19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats?
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Why do LDS completely ignore this passage and claim that certain substances that go into the man are a sin? It appears that Christ specifically taught the exact opposite.

Hmmm.... Won't posting this here assure your topic's closure on MAD? I think you're in violation of unwritten MAD rule for LDS critics number 616.

Or is this rule only applicable to topics potentially embarrassing to mopologetic's best and brightest? I'll have to write Orpheus for clarification....

Sorry for the off topic rambling, Scottie. Don't mind me.

I don't understand what you are saying concerning World of Warcraft.

Oh, by the way, Jethrotully, my Gnome Rogue just dinged 51 last night.

It directly answers the question delineated by the presence of a question mark. The verse precludes the necessity of the WoW being found in the New Testament.

let me put it this way green apron crusader: No one who ever did anything important ever asked the question that 'needed to be answered'.

Its funny how Mormonism has the answers to questions no one gives a damn about.

Grats!

Funny, my alt paladin, Apocalyptus, just dinged 47 last night. Though I'm still a rogue at heart - my main is a NELF Rogue - BlackMoclips - Level 70. Just got keyed for Kara too!

Christ just had a superficial understanding of truth.

New light and knowledge has come forth.

The prophet today gives the world in the information we need.

Milk before meat.

Stop picking at nits.

The WoW is given for our day. They did not need it 2,000 years ago.

The WoW is not a commandment (yes it is a requirement to go to the temple and have the ordinances done which enable one to get into the CKHL, but technically it is a revelation but not a commandment).
