I am uncomfortable with Jersey as a mod

I think it's unrealistic to imagine the mods never get ticked at people. So long as it doesn't affect their mod duties, it shouldn't matter.

Ah! This thread was split when it was derailed (my comment to derail it was in jest by the way -- humor impaired folks:). So, a "moderator" left a note and split the thread, and NO name was attached.

Helllooo? Isn't this why this entire episode started in the first place? A thread was split -- I didn't know who did it? I asked which mod did it...... etc...... etc....

It's absurd because the CONFUSION started 'cause a thread was split and I attempted to contact a FEW mods to talk about the split and see if another post (that was left) could be moved as well. The lack of a mod name being signed made me attempt a few different mods before I could figure out what happened. This entire thread, no doubt, started because of that incident -- there's irony here........

Whenever I do any major moderating I always start with "Mod Note:" add an "~Bond" at the end. All in red of course.

Hardly. My reasoning is that I knew I was in the minority.

I just wanted to see if I could drag 1/3 of the host of heaven with me into the mud.

But seriously, I have been giving jersey hell since I met her. This was not a jeer ut a setting of boundaries. As I have said previously, I am uncomfortale with Jersey as a mod but do not want her to e removed from this task. It takes a great deal of personal time to be good at board moderation and its hard to walk a fine line.

Actually, I was one of those who had initial misgivings--and since Merc brought it up and wasn't getting much support for his concerns, I figured I'd speak up. I think the reason I was concerned about Jersey Girl being a mod is that she's not the same temperament as Liz and Bond, who seem to have managed to remain above the fray and out of the spats that happen on boards. They are to be commended because I think that is no small feat--especially on this board.

I was also concerned about GIMR being a mod because she also strikes me as more like Jersey Girl and less like Liz or Bond. Maybe a little more likely to be involved than a passive bystander in arguments.

However, my assumption is that both Jersey Girl and GIMR were willing to moderate in an objective and impersonal manner, following Shades' guidelines. And I also think it's great that they would volunteer their services in this capacity--it's a big job! I think we as board members can help them be successful by monitoring ourselves and not adding to their responsibilities.
