Members of the Temple Square Orchestra have been advised that Jessop resigned rather than bow to demands that he name names of members who he thought may either be gay or harbor dissent towards church policies. Being a professional and loyal to his musicians, Jessop chose to resign. This is a sad day for the church and perhaps the beginning of the Monson Inquisition Era. Bravo to Maestro Jessop for his moral courage. We need more people like him. Shame on the Church for engaging in good old fashioned witch hunting.

Wow! Where did this quote come from?

As I understand it, it comes from a sibling_not sure which sex_of a member of the orchestra. It seems there is a group of <<dissenters>> in the orchestra as well as some suspected homosexuals. I guess the word has come down from above that it is time to <<clean house>> and apparently Jessop was not willing to stand by and watch it happen.

I would venture to say that we have not heard the last of this story. In fact, I would wager that it will get a whole lot uglier. They will not be able to <<keep the lid on>> a story like this. Give it a few more days and we should know a whole lot more.

Okay, but where did *you* hear about this? I.e., was this rumor posted on RfM? Or FLAK? Or MAD? Or what?

Ok, fine, you still don't have a source.

Interesting to me that a homosexual Mormon could actually make it that far into the ranks. Imagine how hard it would be to suppress homosexuality. To be something you are not, just so you can keep from being ostracized - because you'd never make it there if the Cult knew about it.

Still, I want to see a source, or at least some kind of proof.

Off Topic: Will someone get Craig Paxson in a headlock and bring him over here, I love reading that guy.

Ok, so the quote came from the Tribune, but I can't track down the actual comment page for the story. Anyone else? Looks like it is just hearsay.

Agreed. I always enjoyed reading about the life experiences of Cr@ig P@xton on RFM. I think they even coined a new term over there for someone whose spouse forces you (under threat of divorce) to go through the motions of belief in the church: "P@xtonated".

I can bug him, but he generally posts only on RFM and occasionally on PM.

Ha. Yeah I hardly ever read RfM but I caught that a few times when it was being explained. Good stuff.
