Good grief.

I served a mission in france, and can verify that there are plenty of immature 19 year olds who made fun of catholicism there. It doesn't even surprise me they were stupid enough to take photos of it and get caught. They're a bunch of nineteen year old kids, for heaven's sake.

That's nothing. You need to check out his posting down in the Telestial Kingdom in which he denies that he ever witnessed a certain very conspicuous facet of the pre-1990 endowment ceremony. He's calling people "liars" over it. It is quite stunning.

Coggins:

Your speculation about my testimony or lack of the same really has nothing to do with the original post.

Do you have something to say about that besides the fact that you think such incidents are rare?

Figures! Not an RM, inactive family, he's inactive and a recovering alcoholic.... why is he here defending that which he does not nor cannot embrace?

And this coming from a couple of juvenile, profane, vulgar exmormon Moonbats who couldn't handle the standards and disciplines of the Christian community of which they were a part?

First, where did you get the idea that either I or my family is inactive? Secondly, what does my being a recovering alcoholic have to do with anything?

Look up from the gutter guys...it also smells better.

Of all the low life's resident here, I didn't suspect that you were one of the less evolved forms. You have now demonstrated that I was, in this instance, wrong.

I have to admit I'm surprised they took pictures. I was also surprised last fall when a missionary in Argentina posted a video of his entire district doing a "baptism dance" on the base of a giant cross erected by local Catholics in Argentina. He took it off youtube after it was discussed on various former-Mormon sites; prior to that, he'd bragged about it.

At least when my zone leaders stole a 3.5' high statue of the Virgin of Lujan and left it on the train-tracks to be run over they were smart enough not to take pictures.

How does this make me a low-life??? These are legitimate questions. Are you inactive? Did you serve a mission? Are you still drinking?

The mission, of course, could be explained in some way. But to remain inactive and to still drink despite your so-called fervent testimony is quite strange.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Good HEAVENS you're dense! You are a walking, breathing, posting example of spiritual death; you are one of the spiritual undead. Now I see again, in so clear a manner, what this really means. My personal problems, relationship with the Lord, and interaction with his Church are far more subtle and nuanced than your simplistic how-can-you-have-a-testimony-if-you-have-personal-problems schtick.

You think you can cry hypocrisy at others because of their weaknesses to justify your own cowardly retreat from the refining fire? Think again.

Coggins7 wrote:And why should I believe you Jack? Are you an authoritative source? Oh, just telling some stories? Here come more stories of how bad the Church and its people are. I've been in the Church all of my life, and although I never served a full time mission, I've done plenty of it with those so serving. I've also been close to many who have been on foreign missions in Catholic and other countries, and your claim that this is common sounds as phony as most of the other such stories we are used to intercepting here in the MIG Ally of Mormondiscussions.com

Exmo Moonbats of the world unite...

On my mission a few elders had asked me to take a picture of them as they posed disrespectively on religious statues. I also remember seeing other disrespectful pictures that were similar. My observation has been that this kind of behavior is not uncommin in the LDS Church. But I severely doubt that the missionary broke the head on purpose. I suspect that it was broken accidentally... maybe while sitting on the head for a pose.

The Church most definitely is true, and I know that of myself because God has revealed it to me personally in an unmistakable and indelible manner. I know of myself, not because the scriptures claim so, or because the leaders of the Church make similar claims.

Did you ever receive a testimony of the Gospel?
Oh I see.

Yet, you choose to not embrace it 100%.

Care to answer the question?

Yes I did.

Now answer beastie's questions, did you serve a mission? do you still drink?
