I'm not entirely certain. Yet, apparently they all have nipple clamps, suffer from depression, and have an abundant supply of plastic bananas.

Sheesh, is there a rule that I can't hyphenate??? I like it better hyphenated for some reason...

Geez. Ex-Mo's.

I'm so confused! :)

My follow-up post, in which I said "skip it", is the only one I'll be responding to, for the sake of peace keeping operations.

Thanks, Cogs. *HUGS* Just so you don't feel completely guilty, you're not the only one who has driven me to profanity on the board. Bob Crockett, Boaz a.k.a. PP, Infymus, and Marg have all driven me to profanity at some point as well. LOL

I suppose there is room for both of us to repent on that score. ;)

I would much rather engage in a civil conversation with you regarding the topic of depression among LDS members. What do you feel are some things that could help combat this? Here are a few things I have been thinking about, and I would like to hear your ideas as well.

I think that a stronger emphasis on intent of the heart might be in order, addressing BOTH sexes. Most LDS members are extremely driven. Maybe it's time to pull out some of the addresses by the First Presidency that you mentioned that addressed the issues of perfectionism. It might be time to have a second look at some of President Kimball's counsel on the subject. Also, if you have a reference for his talk on family size, I would be interested in it. I do remember that talk, but can't remember what year or the exact source.

I have to go to bed, but I will definitely address more of this tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a positive discussion with you going forward.

;)

Anyone who combines nipple clamps with plastic bananas, especially after 3 or 4 Long Island Ice Teas deserves to be depressed.

Are you attempting to tempt me? I think you are! I can barely control myself! That sounds like a perfect first date!

I'll tell you what Coggins, you sure do have your mind in the gutter quite a bit...

This was meant to be purely a humorous, off the wall jest. So just who has their mind in the gutter?

Actually, I made the point that there is a tremendous amount of pressure put on the men in the Church as well.

Actually, it may be something more along the lines of the Democratic National Convention this year, if all the usual social issue interest groups show up. But that's for another thread.
