They're calling for a boycott...

Is there nothing worse in the world to complain about???????

Is this for real?

What did they have on the dollars when George Washington was President?

I seem to recall that the religious stuff got onto the coinage during the Civil War, which was perhaps not one of the most admirable times in the young republic's history. The Founding Fathers managed without.

Considering (the Christian) God's view on money as expressed in the New Testament, do you really think that that is how he wants to be represented?

It seems fitting that they would have "In God we trust" on cash. It might be looked at with some skepticism on checks.

Sami, have you entirely abandoned the GIMR Identity?

Don't much care about the coin nonsence. However, i find BCSpace's statement, pasted below, leaving me wondering, "is he really serious?"

... I believe this nation's religious roots should be printed on our money, written on our public buildings, and expressed in our schools. (Bold added by RM)

Really? Salem witch hunts? Slavery sanctioned by established religions of Early America? Slave owning, and the "Trail of Tears" without serious religious-out-cry. Water cannons blasting children off of their feet in the '60s? The third US Pres espousing religion as a slave master! Add as you see fit...

IF the USA's roots are religious, as BCS suggests, we need look no farther for reasons of its decline. All the testimony bearing in every sect cannot out weigh hypocracy and ignorance. Religious they might be. Living according to the Two New Commandments they, as our European ancestors, never have. Will they/we ever live humanely?

What say ye JAK? Warm regards, Roger
