BC, have you ever discussed plural marriage with your wife? Do you think she would be thrilled about actually living the practice?

Yes and yes. Not directly on that second, but she once said it would be fun to be head wife. I said, just bring me a batch of your choosing and I'll pick from the batch. She said "Okay!"

As I mentioned previously, there are those women who like the idea.

Hi Truth dancer,

The LDS Doctrine that there will be a lot of Polygamy in Heaven, However there will be No Polyandry in Heaven, makes No logical sense to me.
The Following is From About.com:

How many boys are born for every 100 girls?

There are 105 boy babies born for ever 100 girl babies worldwide but scientists haven't determined why this sex ratio is so.

What makes you think you would get to keep your wife if polygamy was re-instituted? Let alone add more wives??

There seems to be this false mindset that if polygamy were re-instituted that every LDS man would have multiple wives. This is impossible. There is a near 50/50 ratio of men/women. For every extra wife that is married to a polygamist husband, there will be one man that will not get a wife. The higher up's in the church will be the ones with wives.

I think it would be much more likely that a powerful man in the church would claim your wife rather than you adding any new wives.

How would you and your wife feel about that? What if she were taken from you to be a wife of your SP, to be used only to breed, and you never getting to see her again?

Scottie, you bring up a good point. :-)

According to church leaders women could trade up if they wanted a more powerful, good, righteous man so maybe women who are fine with polygamy actually are thinking they could trade up?

There are certainly those who would rather be one of several women attached to a wealthy and powerful man rather than the wife of one average guy.

Hmmm.... ;-)

And of course your point that most LDS men would not be living their dream fantasy of a harem filled with young attractive women... I think some guys don't actually think it through. (smile)

What makes her think she would be the head wife? If you married a woman with a more dominant personality, and maybe another woman that's super hot, and another that's young and bubbly, your wife might end up being pushed to the bottom of the plural wife org chart.

As a random aside....my husband has always given me the standard "safe" answer when asked about plural marriage.

He told me that he wouldn't want it. His quote. "I can't even handle you. How could I handle someone else?"

Hello,

I really do will like to know from Bcspace or any other TBMs here, why and how there is going to be a lot of Polygamy Practiced in the Celestial Kingdom, yet there will be no Polyandry Practiced in the celestial Kingdom, when there are 105 boys born for every 100 girls?.
