Call me crazy but for the most part, I prefer my alcohol straight up.
One of the few mixed drinks that I can say I really enjoy is one we invented last October.
screwed By Marching Romans:
Equal parts Sambuca, dry white gin and Rockstar with a dash of Coke.
Everyone who's ever said they won't drink Sambuca because of the licorice flavor has loved the FBMR.

That reminds me of a drink they make at the "Tavernacle" in SLC (ingenius name, I think). I usually don't like sweet drinks, but this one hits you so fast, I swear it gets into the system faster than anything else I've had! It's very strong (for Utah drinks)...it's a Long-Island Iced Tea PLUS blue karakou (sp?). It's called the ...

I used to make one I coined the "Orange Cream Cicle" Take any sized cup, fill it with about 70% Malibu, 5% Spiced Rum, 23% Orange Juice, and 2% Cream. You can barely taste the alcohol and it tastes just like an orange cream cicle. Gotta be careful though as with a drink that’s 75% hard liquor, it can tend to do a number on you if you aren’t careful.
I used to also love Irish Car Bombs…

My parents' missionary farewell, while on that stuff, was quite interesting, as well.
Your parents went on a mission while on that stuff? I guess the Stake President didn't have much discernment.

That would be blue curacao, a lovely liqueur.
And I enjoy almost any blue drink. I actually had one named after me at a local bar.
I may be going to hell in a bucket, babe / But at least I'm enjoying the ride.

Well, when you're drinking that stuff, who cares how you spell it?! (smile)

Irish Car Bombs, yes. Your creamsicle drink sounds like the cream soda-esque Stoli Vanilla and Coke. I was introduced to it at a local wateringhole while everyone else was playing pool. I had a lovely time by myself until I needed to go take a nap in the car. I also remember some strange concoction a sailor from Texas once showed me. He called it a Space Rocket and I think it was bourbon, beer and ice cream. He thought it was a summertime beverage. I thought no season deserved it.

Too much crying to discern those red eyes. They snuck right through.
