Please. Would you like some cheese with that whine?

When you have pushed out half a dozen kids and have one more on the way, suffer from hemorrhoids because of it and have an ass full of Preparation H, like half those women in Relief Society, then you can have a padded chair, too. ;)

Scottie:

As a young man, I HATED walking around on fast Sunday to collect the fast offerings....

Ewww.. I hated that too... especially going to the inactives and waking them up on sunday morning.

The only up side my oldler brother would usually drive and we stopped at Dunkin Donuts first...

I hated wearing church clothes. Slacks, ties, and button-up shirts. As a kid, I was always the first to get changed out of my church clothes into something comfortable when I got home (sometimes I'd bring a t-shirt in the car and change on the way home). As an adult, I made sure I would have a job where I didn't have to wear that kind of crap. Slacks...just the word makes me queasy. Thinking about it now, this must be the true reason for my apostasy. ;)

Over the weekend, while looking at my tie collection I began to think about how silly of a clothing accessory it is. Really! You tie a piece of decorative cloth around your neck that just dangles over the front of your shirt. It’s gotta be one of the more inane archaic clothing practices that has somehow managed to remain a cultural norm.

The thing I dislike is the lack of “realness” (hopefully that makes sense). I have only been in one ward (in my youth) where the majority of people were “real” at church (i.e. they were the same people at church that they were outside of church). The air didn’t have the sense of someone going around to every individual and kicking them in their special-no-no-place.

I for one prefer the carpeted basketball courts though… well, until you get that inevitable rugburn.

What about early morning seminary? Living in California, I had to be down at the church at 5:30 every morning before school. Adding insult to injury, I later found out that Utah kids get to walk over to the seminary building during school on their free period. What's with that?

Awww phooey!! 95% of the Relief Society women had padding to spare on their asses, while 95% of the men had no asses!! ;)

(Note: I'm sure you're in the 5% that had/has a sculpted, chiseled ass)

Yep. On the report card, it was called "Release Time". I always took seminary during 1st period. That way I could sleep in every day!!

Hmmm... what did I hate about church?

I'd say everything but the girls (and the dances). Friends were pretty much its only redeeming feature.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.
