Sunstone SLC 2008 Call for Papers
The Call for Papers you've all been waiting for is now online! This year's SLC Sunstone Symposium will be August 6-9 at the Sheraton. The theme is "The Spirituality of the Rising Generation," but of course they still accept Mormon-related presentations on other topics, as well. The deadline for submission is May 15. I hope to present a paper titled "Joseph Smith in Hermeneutical Crisis". Hope to see you all there!

Why not just submit your resignation papers to the Cult, wait a couple months, and attend the Ex-Mormon conference?
Then you don't have to continue pretending the Cult is real in any way.
Sunstone is for those who haven't made up their minds yet. Who have one foot in reality and the other foot in a lie.

Sunstone caters to a range of folks. The Ex-mo conference wouldn't work for me anyway, because I've never been a Mormon.

What do you make of the theme, though, chris? Seems awfully "uninspired" to me.
True, it's pretty sucky. But I'm going for the history and theology papers, not for the themed ones. *Shrug*
Since John Dehlin took over, he has been trying to push Sunstone back into the "faithfully questioning" mode. Additionally, they are not very successful at attacking younger people as subscribers. This is appears to be an attempt to bridge that.
I have a couple of paper ideas floating around that I might submit.

Ah, right. Makes sense.
From the Ernest L. Wilkinson Diaries: "ELW dreams he's spattered w/ grease. Hundreds steal his greasy pants."

---Man that was funny. Nice one, Infymus ha ha. I have similar thoughts on the Sunstoners.

Wow
Funny? That was funny? Where? what how? Course Infintus really knows how to lie well so I guess he know about where his feet trod.
