Ben Stein's new movie

Expelled

Seems a bit extreme. "If you watch this movie, you'll lose all your friends. If you're a scientist and you watch it, be prepared to lose your job!"

Rather than spend their energy trying to portray a conspiracy, they should develop a cogent, coherent theory to compete with evolution. Once they have done that, they will be taken seriously.

I suppose Ben Stein is a stick in the mud (he's Jewish).

Anyhow, the reason they portray it as a conspiracy is because to them that's what it feels like. They believe that Intelligent Design is a "cogent, coherent theory to compete with evolution."

Still, I gotta laugh at the paranoid statement that merely watching the film may make you lose your job if you're a scientist. I mean really, if the producers of the film were that worried about it and were actually more concerned about their message and the welfare of their audience than their box-office profits, they could try releasing the film for free over the internets and then encourage everyone to view it anonymously through proxy servers. I mean, sure there's nothing wrong with making some money after some hard work, but then don't go spreading around some kind of faux-concern for our welfare while you cry all the way to the bank.

Come on John. If you won't except a coherent theory like "Jesus Did It!!!" (with three exclamation points!) then you are just being a stick in the mud. :P

Looks like ID'ers have got a "Book of Mormon" movie all their own.

The Book of Mormon movie would have been a lot more interesting if it starred Ben Stein.

I'm excited to see this movie. I can't say that about most movies, but this one looks really interesting.

I'm really conflicted about seeing this movie. I want to see it, yet, don't want to purchase a ticket. May wait 'til someone uploads it then view it online.

That usually happen before it's even out in theatres if you know where to look (I don't, but I know people who know people who do).
