Do you suffer from depression?

Nope. I'm too happy-go-lucky to get depressed. It also sounds like a lot of work and I'm too lazy for it.

As soon as I find the woman crazy enough to marry me but yet not so crazy she needs to be committed, I'll solve that problem.

You are right. Too much commitment in marriage. ;-)

Halfway through my mission I fasted one sunday and went tracting in the hot Brazilian sun. By mid afternoon I was so physically ill that I had to return to the apartment and crawl into bed for the rest of the day. I was never so sick on my mission as that. I don't think I ever tried to fast again. On top of this I had seen all the crazy, manipulative ways the missionaries used fasting to influence investigators or wring a blessings out of Heavenly Father. It blew my faith in the whole endeavor. It wasn't necessarily terminal. I probably could have eventually rebuilt my faith in fasting at some point by going back to basics, but I never got around to it. I still don't do well if I skip meals. If 2pm rolls around and I haven't eaten lunch, I can't concentrate and I get really mean.

Meanwhile, my mother fasts for me every Sunday, believing I will someday return to the Church. Now that's faith!

Okay, here we have it. You're apostates not because you were offended or chose to live in sin, but because 80% of 'ya cheated on fasting Sunday. Just blows the TBM myth out of the water.

Chuckle.

My parent(s) have been fasting once a week since 1972 for my sister and then for both of us. My father still does, though my mother passed away.

I told them they could stop fasting because it wasn't going to work. My mom said that if I didn't change in this life that I would in the next life.

They were promised in blessings from two different bishops that we would come back to the fold if my parents continued to live righteously. After 5 missions, I think my Dad is fulfilling his part. My sister and I haven't seen fit yet to fulfill our part, however.

Now, that's faith.
