Yes. GoodK's father needs to give Daniel a major lesson in the wisdom of minding one's own business. Not that I think Daniel is going to learn it, but still...

Okay, let me play Dev...uh, Daniel's Advocate here.

What do you mean mind my own business? It IS my business. Your kid is defaming me on an internet message board.

I'm unaware of any postings in which GoodK "defamed" DCP.

I agree with Scratch. I don't think there's been any defamation.

To my knowledge, GoodK hasn't defamed DCP. I don't know why you posted that.

I'm not certain that I understand what you're asking about parenting manuals. If you can ask the question more directly, I'll try answering it.

It doesn't make sense now that I think about it. Dr. Peterson is not a part of their family system. He is free to add disharmony and strife to the proceedings as he likes, after all, as they would say in Arabic "this is Jihad, we do what we must to defeat the Infidel".

Beyond that, Dr. Peterson is probably still smarting from having his knowledge of ancient Latin questioned.

I think it does make some sense, mok, but there is more than one form of triangulation. When we think of triangulation in families, it often involves conflict resolution between a child and one parent. The other parent might step in to back the first parent and the child throws a wrench into the proceedings by raising an issue that puts the parents at odds with eachother, shifting focus to the secondary issue that the child has raised between the parents and the child's conflict/consequences are tossed aside.

If that's what you're thinking...I'd put DCP in the position of child as per the OP.

Okay, so much for arm chair psychology!

You know, as I think about it, I realize that DCP does this accusatory thing all the time. He once accused me of being the poster called "Ref," and he accused me of being other posters as well. Of course, he never tried to interfere with my non-Internet life, as he's apparently done to GoodK. In any case, I do hope The Good Professor offers up a mea culpa for this. Truly, this is quite a major blunder for him.

I see it as a diversion, Scratch. An evasive measure to avoid dealing with whatever the issues are. Perhaps moksha is right about the triangulation aspect after all. Instead of dealing with the issues, you create a diversion, shift focus on to the person who has raised the issues and voila! Problem solved!

I would imagine that the "exposure" of the fact that he collects earnings for his apologetics is a major-league blow to him. The old mythology about these guys doing this "work" for no pay appears to be a big, huge lie. DCP has, for a very long time, tried to perpetuate the myth that he earns "nothing" for his Mopologetics. Of course, this claim now strains credulity to the breaking point. I guess that, in the end, it does not surprise me that he would be flailing about in this manner.

PM to Scratch - now that Bond has blown our cover about the meeting in Ulan Bator, we had better switch to plan B. See you at the usual place, just next to the Emperor Penguin roost.

(Can someone do a photoshop job to show DCP with a beak, shuffling along faithfully through the blizzard of criticism with an egg labelled "Book of Mormon historicity" on his feet, or something? I am too lazy today.)
