Has William Schryver really left the CJCLDS?

Freedom’s just another word for ‘nothing left to lose’

Has William Schryver really left the CJCLDS?

Please select the answer that is closest to your belief about Will / Will's post / Will's intentions.

As I said in the original thread, I think Will is going to leave someday. A joke like this has some truth in it.

Therefore I voted for the first. He intends to leave... he just doesn't know it yet.

Slim shady does it again. I voted for "I believe that Will is an out-and-out liar and deceiver". It's what i've been saying for the last year and a half.
WK: "Joseph Smith asserted that the Book of Mormon peoples were the original inhabitants of the americas"
Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

I understand what you mean (I think), but in normal, everyday usage of the term, you wouldn't "intend" to do something you don't know (yet).

The question was really meant to get at posters' views on the sincerity of Will's post in the link.

I don't need a poll to tell me that W. Schryver is an "out and out liar." I have the fully documented evidence.

Again, Mr S, this poll is in the context of Will's post only. Or are you saying that you "have the fully documented evidence" of Will's lying in the post in question. I'm no supporter of Will, but I'm ambivalent about his sincerity in this context.

I voted "I don't care." And I would hope that is the winning category. Otherwise I will be sorely disappointed in the Shadyville community.

Besides, I'm not even convinced that Will Schryver is a real person.

But if he is, and if he really did decide to leave Mormonism, he would do it without fanfare, and without any lame and labored attempt to justify himself in the eyes of the two camps doing battle in the bloggernacle. He would simply drive away from the church one day, wave goodbye to the steeple in his rearview mirror, put Eddie on the stereo and sing along:

Do you see the way that tree bends?
Does it inspire?
Leaning out to catch the sun's rays
A lesson to be applied
Are you getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who can't forgive yourself
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense

Have you ideas on how this life ends?
Checked your hands and studied the lines
Have you the belief that the road ahead, ascends off into the light?
Seems that needlessly it's getting harder
To find an approach and a way to live
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

You can spend your time alone re-digesting past regrets
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense
... every man walketh in his own way, and after the image of his own god, whose image is in the likeness of the world, and whose substance is that of an idol ...

Question amended to:

Has an apologist we normally associate with the name "William Schryver", really left the CJCLDS?

[wishForSmiliesOnceMore/]

I'm beginning to think that all I'm doing here is stroking the ego of the possibly-existent William Schryver.

Thanks for playing, Will, it's been fun - sort of.

New Movie in Provo, Utah

Post by _moksha »

I posted this on another board and no one even made the connection between it and April Fools. How is it you guys are so sharp?

Remake of Edgar Rice Burroughs Film
Provo, Utah

Sunstorm Productions has announced that they will begin filming a new adaptation combining two of Edgar Rice Burroughs classics, The Land that Time Forgot and The People that Time Forgot. They will be combined into a loose adaptation under The Land that Time Forgot title.

Executive Producer April Pazzo, has selected the campus of Brigham Young University as the setting for the film. “This is an ideal location for the film. It has all the ingredients necessary for a realistic period piece. We were at first skeptical of reports from our location scouts, but once we saw the campus, we knew it was perfect.”

Filming begins in August and the call for a cast of a thousand extras will come as early as May 1st, next month. “It will be a real savings for our production budget, in that we are going to ask the natives to just show up in their street clothes,” she added. “That attests to the marvelous job our location scouts have performed.”

Early reports suggest the possibility that Utah favorites Dell Schanze or Jimmy Osmond may possibly be considered for the part that was once played by Doug McClure, although no definite decisions have been made.
