"... full of very different and weird rituals ..."

Post by _Ten Bear »

This is a post in response to a topic on Free Masonry over on the MADB. I couldn't believe what I was reading. Here is a person spitting out the very thing the faithful members disdain - lack of tolerance and understand to something that is "different".

He/she "just doesn't like it."

JADAMS_4040:

Maybe you cannot understand my thinking, but i just do not beleive this stuff is appropriate for some reason i cannot accurately explain. I do not see the nessecity of it all, nor the purpose, nor the "supreme" being issue, i do not like the idea of symbols and ordinances, What are they for? what do they represent? Why are they nessacery? lots and lots of doubts and just not an overall good feeling of the whys, the wherefores, the history, and the practices. If they do not worship and follow a universal God, but rather a "supreme" being of the individuals choice, wheather they be muslim, atheist, or christian, then it seems to me someone is trying to have it both ways? God verses individualism. It simply does not sit right with me and i would never be able to accept this in my life in any manner. Me and my family have everything we need in the truths of l.d.s docrine and the confirmations thereof, the joy, happiness, many and great blessings from the lord, We are fed abundantly, there are no empty voids to fill, no inspirational aspirations either real or imagined that we search for. and therefore no need of beleiving in something that has no real purpose in Gods plan of happiness and eternal goals, freemasonry just seems to be full of very differant and weird rituals and many differant beleifs depending in what part of the world one might be a member. I don't have a good feeling about any of it. maybe this is a wrong feeling, but for me it is very real and sure. {if you or anyone else is a freemason, i,m sorry for telling it like i see it, but there is no other way}.

"... full of very different and weird rituals ..." Now what does that sound like?

Once again, the hallmark of the believer--the lack of critical self-reflection.

Just when you think people couldn't possibly be more clueless, something like this comes along to demonstrate that cluelessness knows no boundaries.
God . . . "who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes, yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, . . . and finally, with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him ..."

It appears that this post is generated by the inability for him/her to accept the fact the temple ceremony is ripped off from Masonry.

Rejectopn of the original ceremony joe ripped off in order to somehow validate the Mormon temple ceremony.

This is like Roseanne Barr calling Rosie O'Donnell ugly.
