---Blixa - all the more reason for the MD "PTB" to continue on with their plan to bequeath, in effect, moderating privileges to certain posters, by allowing thread starters to ban particular people from posting on those threads. That way, MD can become a "multiverseplex". It'll be like the board's being moderated by Lisa Randall on acid.

I don't get it...!

I'm no fan of the new policy. I've always advocated serious moderation in moderation. A heavy-handed light touch, if you will. Or at least something that actually follows through on what the stated boundaries of the forum are. Charity's sneering quasi-plagiarism of Givens---she dropped the list, mistakes and all, into the thread with no reference to where it came from, thus giving the appearance that she was actually well acquainted with those scholars, or at least had read their references to things Mormon, instead of just taking Givens's, as it turned out mistaken, word for it---defies any definition of serious discussion with which I am currently acquainted, likely to ever be acquainted, or wish to become acquainted.

(I hope those clauses and parentheticals were as good for you, Scottie, as they were for me!)

Not to mention your gender confusion. ; )

I hope brother scottie knows I'm just funnin' with him. On the other hand, his remarks have driven me to a, possibly only short-term, but possibly permanent, clause-mania. I should mention that I am, at least for the time being, hell bent on finding a way to include reference to LOAP's misuse of "penultimate" at least once a day.

Scottie ought to try reading Dostoyevsky in the original Russian...he'd probably have a nervous breakdown.

[MODERATOR NOTE: The new rule on flagging a thread as "faith-based" is hereby overturned.

Now back to your regularly-scheduled programming.]

If you're getting married then I think you should get used to the "I'm right, You're wrong" way of thinking (as spoken by your wife).

(Congrats by the way!)
