It is that Time of Year again

Post by _Brackite »

Hello all here,

General Conference is almost here in Utah again. President Thomas S. Monson is now the new LDS Prophet. And there is going to be a newly called LDS Apostle this General Conference. How many here are planning on watching Gereal Conference this Weekend?

Not me!

I'm shopping. Finally, it's spring! Time for a few new outfits.

Work, sleep, booze and sex with my wife all take priority.

As does having my friends over.

I will watch it in somber silence & reverence with unsmiling folks in the functional sparsely seated Chapel in my small town. When Thomas Monson is presented to the Whole World as THE ONLY living oracle of God, and to be sustained as such, I will vote non-sustaining of him in that office.

It seems the least i can do for the cause of truth. A leader, and President of the Church as Incorporated by man, he surely is. A Prophet of "God", he is not.

I am curious, will other Fring-Mos take this opportunity to "stand-and-be-counted" as non-sustaining? More curious, if not, why not? Respectfully, Roger

I will be out riding my bike enjoying nature and feeling really thankful that I only wasted half my life wrapped up in a cult instead of blowing the whole thing like my parent did.

Time when they say to a lucky member of the Quorum of the Seventies, "Come on down...."

Yeap! He will be crowned with the Apostleship of the LDS Church.

I'm not familiar enough with you to tell if you are kidding or not. You're actually gonna do this? If you do, what happens? In the darkened chapel, will anyone not sitting within immediate proximity to you even be able to notice?

I hope you'll let us know what happens.

Well, I am planning to Not watch General Conference this weekend. I will leave the General Conference watching to our TBM Friends here. There is not really anything I will gain by watching General Conference anyway. Most of the talks will very likely be very boring to me. And Plus, there will very likely be at least one talk in there, that will unfortunately make some of the members feel unnecessary guilty.
