Some Clarification on Kevin's Board

There might be some confusion... some people seem to be suggesting that they are forbidden to post over there.

That isn't true. I made Liz a moderator when I first started it over a year ago, and she still has adminstrative rights. So does Dr. Shades. I always considered it a back up to this forum, in cases when the forum crashes or a cool Book of Abraham discussion needed its own pivacy. The forum has died since the Book of Abraham issue lost its flavor about a year ago. I suspect it will pick up again once Metcalfe publishes his book and we have more to debate.

The place is kind of a ghost town though. A lot of dead threads from many months ago, that involved posters who have probably disappeared for good.

Hell even I haven't posted there in many months, and don't plan on it either.

Anyway, Liz just wanted to know if she could use it , I think to get away from some of the drama here, not that she needed permission.

One thing we may want to think about is using the chatroom on Kevin's board as a back up when the one here starts acting crazy like it did last night.

It seems like the chat function on Kevin's board is more stable than the one here.

If Shades is OK with it, I'll post the link so that everyone can bookmark it. That way, when the chatroom goes down here, everyone will have another place to retreat to.

Will do well by whose standards? We lose posters all the time, for a variety of reasons. Some people just don't like to get hammered all the time.

No one should be banned. Posts are reclassified. If we start banning individuals then this defeats the original purpose of the board

I think it's true that we lose posters because they feel "hammered" however, I don't see a better alternative to how this board is run. These are the types of things that lead to banning on MAD or capping on Z. I think Shades is trying to avoid that sort of thing.
